Online booking was straightforward. Booking in advance is recommended. I appreciated receiving a reminder email a day or two before the trip. Outside the Vesuvio Express office, there is a sign indicating that luggage (such as suitcases) can be stored there; however, it does not mention that there is a charge of 5 euros per item. Had we known this beforehand, we would not have left our luggage there—we could have stored it for free at our accommodation after checking out, saving us 10 euros.
Boarding the bus and the journey itself went smoothly.
A three-hour stay at Mount Vesuvius is sufficient for everything there is to explore at the site.
The return trip was also trouble-free.
I would recommend booking the transfer and entrance ticket for Vesuvius National Park through Vesuvio Express.

Muy correcto y puntual. Con tiempo suficiente para la visita entre la llegada y la recogida. Buena opción (aunque algo más cara) si las entradas oficiales para el parque están agotadas. Te deja en la cota más alta por lo que la subida es asequible yendo sin prisa. Salimos desde Ercolano, el ticket office está al salir de la estación de tren a la izquierda. Si tu ticket fue comprado online no hace falta hacer cola, vas directamente a la derecha hacia el autobús (en nuestro caso amarillo).

Overall, it was a pleasant experience. Easy to find their office rate near the train station. The problem that we ran into was our bus was late picking us up from their office and they did not add that delay time to the end of our stay on Mount Vesuvius, so we were very rushed getting up to the top and coming back down in time to catch the bus back.

Stop on time and comfortable coach to the car park, then a 2km walk to the top and back. Fantastic experience and great views. Bus left promptly on time back to Elcolana station.

The views and park were fabulous. We would have appreciated some sort of guide/information on the way and whilst there.
The collection by bus after was a bit chaotic and the timings confusing.

Left on time, took a bit longer getting there, and you have to walk at a reasonable pace to get to furthest point and back in time to get the bus back - but it dod everything we needed it to, and enjoyed our trip.

I don't understand the pricing policy. The combined round-trip bus ticket and national park entry cost €30. That was €7 more expensive than if I had bought a round-trip ticket for €12 and the national park entry for €11. I’ve never experienced anything like this before.

9시에 출발하기로 되어 있었는데 약 한 시간이 지연되어 겨우 일정이 시작되었습니다. 여행 자체는 굉장히 만족스러웠어요. 약 30분 정도를 단체버스를 타고 화산 입구까지 가서 준비해 주신 입장권으로 입장하여 약 20-30분을 걸어 올라가면 정상에 도착합니다. 중간중간 기념품 등을 살 수 있는 휴게소도 약 세 군데 마련되어 있어요. 버스에서 하차하는 시각을 기점으로 2시간 후에 다시 버스가 오면 그걸 타고 하차하면 됩니다. 공식 홈페이지에서 티켓을 구매하기 힘들었는데, 오히려 버스까지 포함된 이 투어에 만족했습니다.

It was a very beautiful, sunny day and really nice to see the crater and the city.

I was under the impression that there would be some kind of narrative describing the history. I didn't realize it was totally independent and everybody would go up individually.

The trip was easy with the Vesuvio express.
The mountain was crowded and the toilet facilities appauling!

This was a very good option for transfer and ticket for Vesuvius. we booked our ticket a few weeks in advance. We arrived at Ercolano train station and the ticket office and bus was right outside. The bus departed each way right on time and there was no hassle at all. Recommend going at 9am. We booked the 9am transfer and it was lovely with fewer people around. When we were starting to walk down for the bus there were far more people around and it was getting more contested.

Beware… the train to Ercolano is a limited stop. If you are taking the train, you can take a train to torre annunziata and change there to the Sorrento or Naples train.

Excellent way to visit Vesuvius. The coach was ready when we arrived at Ercularno station and tickets for entrance to the National Park were handed out as we boarded the bus. When we had finished our visit, after 2 hours at the volcano, the bus was ready for the return journey. All very straightforward.

We booked a tour to Mount Vesuvius on the spur of the moment the day before. It was hassle-free, and the round trip went smoothly.

Bus had issues, 2h total delay with no sorry at all. No communication of when we would be picked up.

Great value way to access Vesuvius. I’d messaged the office earlier as we weren’t sure if our train would get in on time for our slot. Staff were v helpful and said we could go on next bus if we were late. We weren’t but our bus was but we still had the time to walk up which is steeper than I had thought but manageable with some stops. Would recommend using Vesuvius express.

The bus service is not that great : 10mn minutes late for the arrival and over 30mn late for the return. If you plan on doing another visit on the same day, that could make it difficult... + they aparently sold more tickets than seats , some people who booked for my timeslot had to wait for another hour for the next bus !

I'm glad I bought this service. It was conveniently located, the driver was skilled and stopped at scenic points so we could take pictures. A straightforward drive to and from Vesuvio Park and we were given a return time to catch the bus back. This was good value service.

The pick up point is right outside the train station at Ercolano Scavi, making it easy to find. I had pre booked so all I needed to do was arrive and wait for the coach. The 2 hours to get up and down Vesuvius was plenty so it was unrushed.

It was easy to find right when you walk out of the train station. However we waited a long time for our bus to take us up. At least 30 minute delay with no explanation or updates. Getting on the bus was a free for all, lots of pushing and shoving. Communication was unclear. They took us where we needed to be but that was the extent of it.

not even 2 hours on the top! Guest must walk very quick up to the top and back (about 180 meter Elevation difference). the way is steep too, and in the burning sun it is very hot. If you are not very fit, it is far too short. If too late: the bus goes back without you!

Easy to book and much cheaper than a hotel excursion.

This is something I would highly recommend booking if this is your first time visiting Vesuvius, and if you have any confusion on how the ticketing and schedule for the Grand Cono works. With this service, you just choose what time you would like to board the bus, and they handle everything else, including getting the right ticket for getting up to the crater rim.

A suggestion for improvement would be to have some clear signage at the ticket office once you exit Ercolano station, that shows people where to go if they want to buy tickets on the spot, and where to wait for the bus if they have already purchased tickets online.
You also need to remember the bus _ bus driver once you get to the top where you have to then proceed on foot, so that you can board the correct bus on the way down. Again, a wee bit of signage could help with this.

But overall, a very convenient experience and things went fairly smoothly. We went as a family with a 6yo child.

Easy and simple transfer. Will organises and timing for returning simple. Safe driver up a winding road. Amazing views with the ouch time but not too much so no hanging around. Well worth the money. Take a little cash as no signal so cafe for drinks take cash only.

This is a great way to hike to the crater of Mt Vesuvius, with just enough time to hike to the crater and back. I highly recommend, as super easy, and pick up right outside Circumvesuviana Ercolano station. The views were incredible, and what an excellent driver! Hiking to the crater is a once in a lifetime experience, and if you want to see it with ease, book the 9 am tour!

The transfer for both ways was in time, the crew has done a great job. The only difficulty was that there are a limited number of trains stopping at Ercolano, but in turn, as we had to arrive early in the morning, we got to know a great mini restaurant right at the railway sration, next to the office.

We took the bus from Herculaneum up to Vesuvius… a clearly experienced driver navigated the corners well and highlighted areas of interest on the way up e.g. lava flows, and stopped bus for photos at a good viewing point.
We were dropped off at the parking area, taken to entrance stalls, and allowed access to Vesuvius. We were given a time slot by which we had to be back for the bus .. I think it was about 2 hours. This was just about right for a fairly leisurely walk up and down but little time for stopping for a snack or drinks at the top.

As it happened we didn’t need to go back to Herculaneum but rather we needed make our way to Pompeii for the Marillion concerts so we took the service bus from the Vesuvius car park to Pompeii.

Un peu cher pour ce que c'est (transfert en car dans notre cas) avec plus de 25 min de retard sur l'heure de départ annoncée sans communication ce qui a bousculé notre programme de la journée, ayant réservé d'autres visites l'après midi.
Sinon le temps sur place pour faire le tour du cratère du Vésuve est suffisant et la visite vaut le coup.

The trip by bus was ok, we had the 10:00 pm journey but ince we arrived to the office in Ercolano we were offered to take the 9:30 bus coming from Naples so we accepted it.
The bus was very punctual and the visit of the volcano was great. However, it was too short for us if you wanted to enjoy the full visit as well as the views. The bus arrived at 10:00 and departed at 12:00 so everybody was quick. One hour more would allow people to fully enjoy the visit.

After a mix-up with the tickets the company sent a bus to central Naples just to collect us and get us to the main collection point at Ercolano train station. They also found us places on a bus back from Pompeii, so they did not leave us stranded. Just make sure when buying tickets that, if you want a bus all the way from Central Naples, you do actually pay the extra charge for the 'transfer'. Check your bank account to see if this additional fee has been taken. If it hasn't, you won't be being picked up from Central Naples and will have to make your own way to Ercolano train station.

Quite fun, nice view from wulcano, bux took us from Ercolano to National Park gate. The only downside was the limited time to reach the summit, but fortunately, we made it.

Ha estat una bona manera de poder fer arribar al con del Vesubi i poder fer la pujada amb tranport públic. La nostra conductora ens va anar fent bones explicacions durant el recorregut i vam anar parant per veure les vistes. Una vegada al peu del con es van encarregar de les nostres entrades i ens van deixar 2 hores per pujar i baixar. Impressionant visita al con del Vesubi, totalment recomanable.

Our driver was friendly and we had a great experience. Driving the road up/down is crazy-I would never want to do it. Our driver was a pro! I felt safe with him driving and enjoyed the views.

It is great to have transport and entry combined in one ticket, but the experience on the ground felt quite hectic.

I booked a 10:00am ticket, but we did not depart until almost 10:30am, arriving at the entry point around 11:00am. We were then told we had to be back at the coach by 12:30pm. As someone with severe asthma, I needed to take the steep climb slowly. By the time I reached the summit, I realised I only had 20 minutes left to get back down. I had to run the entire way, only making the coach with seconds to spare.

The ticket combination is useful, but the timings desperately need improvement. Offering access to later return coaches would easily take the pressure off and make the experience much safer and more enjoyable for everyone.

I would recommend this service. We received exactly what we had paid for. The bus departed for Vesuvius on time and picked us up at the scheduled time. Our entry tickets had been pre-purchased by the company and worked without any issues. The bus was clean and comfortable, and the entire experience was well organised.

The office is right in front of the train station, so it was easy to find. This is the only positive. Our bus departed with 38 minutes after the booked hour. No explanation was provided by the employees in the office. We had to ask them repeatedly to give us an estimate of the time the bus would arrive for our trip, as we had to make sure we would be back in due time for our train back to Napoli. No excuses were presented for the delay. The driver was driving recklessly on the narrow winding road to the top of the Vesuvius Mountain, making us feel insecure throughout the trip.

I decided to book this although more expensive than getting a public bus and getting national park entrance independently. I had left it too late to book through the NP website and only afternoon slots were available so I booked this combined ticket. It was very easy to get the bus from Skavi train station and they changed our previously booked tickets at 10am to the earlier bus of 9am as we got there earlier. Overall well organised. Yes you are paying a premium but I wanted to go up first thing as very hot weather in July! Would recommend.

We were given time to be back for pick up from the crater hike. There were number of sitting areas to stop, enjoy the view, take drink during the walk. Could easily use more time than the meetup time, but had plan to visit Hercalaneum as well. So we barely made it back on set time. Otherwise I believe later transfer would have taken us back as well when missing the set time.

One thing I will say is that my pick up was 20 minutes late, even though we were the first trip of the day. We had the flexibility for this, but other travelers may find that this creates planning troubles for them. It also would have been to have a sign showing the pick up spot, which was not directly in front of the office.

The driver and guide were professional and friendly. Overall, this company made the experience smooth. We had plenty of time to go up and down the mountain. It was great not having to worry about the entry tickets or the ride. I have already recommended this service to others.

We took the wrong train from Pompéi, that was by the way very late, we wrote a message to inform and ask to reschedule, but never had a return. It cost 200$ Canadian for 4 peoples. Not recommand to book in advanced, there is a bus that took people from Pompéi direct to the Vesuvio. Maybe it’s a better choice with a lower cost.

My ticket was for 9:30am and the bus did not leave until after 10:30 am. I had plans based on my ticket for return trip at 11:15 or 11:45 and had to take a taxi back in order to make the reservation at Contina del Visuvio at 1pm (the bus did not leave until after 12:30 pm). When I got home after my trip, I saw a cancel and re-booking for 10am - after the trip was over. The person managing the bus at Visuvio did help us secure a taxi that took us to our reservation almost on time.
I would still recommend this if you cannot secure an official ticket for Visuvio timed entry as it was a valid company and entry ticket. Just be aware that timing is very loose and don't schedule anything for the rest of the day.

This tour was 100% enjoyable! I give a lot of credit to the bus drivers on the road up to Mt Vesuvius. It takes a lot of skill to maneuver the curves and our driver did an outstanding job!
The only negative was the time spent on the volcano. I wish we were allotted more time to make the climb. I am a little physically challenged and as soon as I started, I knew that I would never make it to the top and back down again. I only made it a quarter of the way up but the views were amazing. My 2 daughters made it to the top and only had 5 minutes to spare before our bus was there to pick us up.

Incredible visit to see the summit of Vesuvius - highly recommended. The bus transport was reasonably priced and gave us just the right amount of time to walk to the summit and take in the incredible view.

The trip from Ercolano to Mount Vesuvius went smoothly without any problems. Unfortunately, the entry ticket for Vesuvius National Park itself does not grant direct admission (ticket bought on Vesuvio Express website). Fortunately, an Italian man, likely the manager from Vesuvio Express, gave us vouchers right in front of the park entrance, so we were able to get in. It seems you need to visit the Vesuvio Express office in Ercolano first to get your actual park tickets, but there was no information about this when I booked mine. The park offers a beautiful view; you can admire Vesuvius, the Bay of Naples, and the city itself from the top. The time allocated for the visit is sufficient if you walk at an average pace and spend some time enjoying the scenery. However, if you'd prefer to take your time and contemplate more, you might find the duration a bit short.

Vesuvio Express was great. Please make sure (as we did) to choose the option with the entrance ticket for Vesuvio national Park.

- It was easy to book, but I reccomend to book at least a week ahead of time.
- We took the first bus, which was waiting with doors closed,. Everything went smoothely, only the bus driver appeared a few minutes late.
- It would be helpful to clearly advise people on the website to not only pack water but also a wind breaking jacket. In our case, end of May, it was hot at sea level but heavy cold winds at the top.
- Up to the crater from the parking lot is about 20 minutes, down another 20 min, walking around the crater takes perhaps another 40 min. The two hours between arrival and departure of the bus are plenty of time, allowing for picture taking and rest.

The bus was comfortable and the bus driver was amazing! Mt Vesuvius was one of the highlights of our trip.

Vesubio Express+ entrance ticket to the Vesuvius is really a good choice. The three hours offers plenty of time to get the crater, go around and admire the formidable views of the whole bay of Naples. The personal in charge is relaxed and friendly, but at the same time very reactive. In our case a minor problem with one of the entrance tickets was solved inmediatly. You feel yourself in good hands. In addition, it is very easy to combine a visit of the Ercolano ruins with this trip in a single day.

En el sitio dice que abren a las 8:30 , y no llego nadie hasta las 8:50 . Luego, de bastante mal humor atendieron a la gente que esperaban . El autobus de las 9:00 llego a las 9:25 , y subieron a los que tenian reservas para los dos horarios , al estilo "salvese quien pueda". El chofer pide tip , no se por que motivo . Lo mas estricto fue la hora de regreso , partio exacto a la hora que anuncio .En definitiva , el volcan y el camino hasta arriba , muy imponente , el servicio de la empresa , regular -

Für 30€ ist der Eintritt in den Nationalpark (18€) inklusive. Hin- und Rückfahrt vom Bahnhof Ercolano haben gut funktioniert, auch wenn hier auf Pünktlichkeit nicht geachtet wird.

Ein Abzug gibt es dafür, dass es nur eine zwei Stunden Tour gibt. Bei guter Aussicht wären wir gerne noch länger oben geblieben.

We booked the bundle (bus+entrance ticket) for a convenient transport to Vesuvio.
When we arrived at the meeting spot, there was no bus to be seen. The staff at the vesuvio express office nearby told us the bus would be 30min late, and we should've received a mail - in fact we did only receive a reminder of the activity via mail and SMS, so the update obviously did not reach us.
In the end, the bus was 45min late, did not bear any signs of the company, and was a bit run-down. However, we had a very nice driver, we were given enough time around the vesuvio (>2h) and enjoyed the trip :)
You should consider that you won't be alone on the Vesuvio - including several souvenir shops around the crater rim...

Bardzo sprawna obsługa. Bilety kupiłam z ok. tygodniowym wyprzedzeniem (wejście 29.05). Bilet do parku +transfer. Autokar przyjechał punktualnie (ponieważ byłam wcześniej niż godzina na bilecie wsiadłam do wcześniejszego autobusu). Przy wysiadaniu kierowca poinformował o godzinie odjazdu (na całą wyprawę masz 1,5h). Autobus odjeżdża punktualnie, kierowca przeliczał pasażerów. Wszystko sprawnie i bez zarzutów.

Easy to access (longish uphill walk, but OK), but cloud cover made it impossible to see anything (except clouds!). Not their fault, but has to be taken into account.

Anbieter ist der Platzhirsch in Herkulaneum, der am Bahnhof ein Büro unterhält.
Der Transfer fand mit 20 Minuten Verspätung statt, als Begründung wurde starkes Verkehrsaufkommen genannt.
Oben (ohne nennenswerten Verkehr) angekommen wurde die Rückfahrt mit 15.30 Uhr festgelegt, wir hatten also nur knapp 90 Minuten für Auf- und Abstieg.
Die Rückfahrt fand dann um 15.45 Uhr statt.
Uhrzeiten sind in Italien bekanntlich relativ. Wenn ich aber eine Tour über 120 Minuten buche, möchte ich nicht nach 90 Minuten wieder am Start sein.

The views are stunning, the driver great however be careful what time you are booking for. The description says 3hr trip (30 min drive up, 2 hr walk in Vesuvio, 30 min drive down). We booked for 4 pm and at 4.45 when we got up we were told the bus back will leave at 17.50 giving us only 1hr there which I couldn’t make to the very top (in 30 min ) and had to start walking back down. they cut our trip by a full hour despite paying a full price. Very disappointing!

Jedyną zaletą zakupu biletów od Vesuvio Express jest to, że są dostępne nawet dzień przed planowanym zwiedzaniem, kiedy na oficjalnej stronie parku już nie ma możliwości ich kupienia.

I did like the view and the perspective over the Naples Bay from above. It's very nice.
But I didn't like the crowds, a lot of people there already at 9:00. We chose the first bus but it was still busy. To see the crater inside you need to wait, for climb up - slowly, wait, for move around on the peak - step by step, watching all people around.
The difficulty I experienced is that buying a ticket on the official site is a scam. It's like buying a concert ticket for the most famous star of the world. Sold in 5s. But with other companies? Pay more and you get it. No problem. It's like a mafia, a scam.
I wouldn't recommend it. You can climb somewhere else to see a nice view. Not worth it.

I liked the time allowed at the top of Vesuvius, the communication was not as clear as it could have been and the timing of the coach arriving and leaving was late, but the trip was safe and fun.

The office and bus stop are right next to the station. We got a bus ticket at the office, and a ticket to Vesuvius on the bus. Everything was fine, we just would have liked more time to spend on Vesuvius. We were worried that another - later bus, wouldn't take us down,

This was one of the things that was a must see for our holiday. After a little confusion about how I could book a trip up Vesuvius (without paying through the nose for an excursion), I found out about Vesuvio Express and was able to book quite easily online for the following day. (I doubt that would be possible at busier times). Only the 9 am slot had spaces so we had to get an early train from Sorrento to Ercolano which, conveniently, was the express which was direct and not the usual one which required a change of train.
The office is right next to the station, you can’t miss it as there’s groups of people standing around outside. Some people seemed to be able to book places at the office for the same trip but not sure that would be possible at busier times.
Construction work around the station meant that the bus had a struggle to get up to the pick up and again there was some confusion about where to wait.
Once on the bus, the driver was extremely competent and skillfully drove us up the winding road with hairpin bends and large oncoming vehicles to get us up to the car park. Entry in to the park itself was straightforward after a bit of waiting for groups of schoolchildren to be ushered in before us. But once in we were given about 2.5 hours to wander and just told to be back at the bus for a certain time.
The climb to the crater is fairly easy but moderately steep with an uneven path. Coming down was more of a challenge if you have dodgy knees like me but just take your time and watch where you put your feet.
The time you are given is ample for seeing the whole crater and taking in the views then getting back down.
Again a little confusion in the car park waiting for pick up as among the continuous stream of buses coming and going, there was several Vesuvio Express buses. We endured being shouted at by a bus full of Polish ladies after we initially got on the wrong bus! We wondered why we didn’t recognise anyone!
Definitely recommend this as a way of ‘doing Vesuvius’. Fraction of the price of an excursion and means you don’t have a 2 hour whirlwind visit to Pompeii tagged on in the afternoon!

This was stress free, if you are arriving by train then it’s very easy, the company is right outside the exit of the train station. We pre booked the 9.30am, but arrived early and they let us take the 9am shuttle which was great. It was hassle free. Up to the volcano and straight in with the pre booked tickets from the shuttle. Had 2 hours up there which was enough and bus arrived on time again to pick us up.

I didn't like that the bus was late and made me an hour late to my other tour but I did like the ease of it all in 1.

Après une prise en charge en retard (un peu plus 15 minutes par rapport à l'heure annoncée : 15h), le trajet c'est passé plutôt agréablement dans un bus climatisé.
Le fait de prendre 15 minutes de retard s'est répercuté sur la redescente du Vésuve ou il a fallu accélérer le pas.
Arrivée à 17h30 au point de rassemblement, une incompréhension avec le chauffeur de bus puisqu'il a fallut attendre 15 minutes supplémentaires sans savoir ce qu'il se passait. Nous avons repris au final un bus surpeuplé assis parterre avec mon fils de 6 ans et mon épouse dans les rues étroites de la montée du Vésuve. En somme pas très agréable retour qui plus est pour la somme déboursé...

Booked the Transfer & Entrance Ticket Package directly with VesuvioExpress, 10 Days before our visit - easy process. On the day, arrived a little early for the 10am bus so got given seats on the 9:30 one. Member of office staff issued actual Park Ticket which needed to be scanned at the turnstiles on the mountainside. The Driver, although somewhat grumpy, was an expert in negotiating the many hairpin bends up to the car park! Driver confirmed return time (2 hrs after arrival - so 12noon, in our case) and bus to look for. Car Park probably the most dangerous part of the Trip; many buses trying to turn around whilst loitering tourists remain oblivious to their manoeuvres. There was a row of portacabin toilets but didn't take advantage of the facilities! Due to a health condition, I am now a very slow walker and use poles but I was very pleased to have managed it! View was spectacular!

Mit der ausgedruckten Buchungsbestätigung erhielt ich vor Ort (beim Einstieg in den Bus) die Eintrittskarte für den Vesuv. Oben angekommen wurde uns mitgeteilt wann der Bus zur Abholung zurück kommt. Overall, we are happy with Vesuvio Express. The bus left on time, the process went smooth and we arrived back on time as well.
So overall, we got what we payed for, not less but also not more. The bus was a bit old, on some seats the seat belt didn't work anymore and the bus driver didn't seem to like his job that much...But these are details...Overall we were happy.

De bus vertrok precies om twee uur.Voor het instappen kregen we een papieren ticket waarmee we door de ingang konden. De bus bracht ons bij de ingang. We kregen twee uur om langs de krater te lopen. Als 70 plus hebben we voldoende tijd om dit te volbrengen. De heenweg is wel bergopwaarts. Wij vonden het een geslaagde trip.

This worked out great for us, and we were very happy with the coach and the amount of time at the crater. The bus was very punctual in both directions - we made sure to go on the first bus in an attempt to reduce the crowds. And the walk from where the bus drops you is not too bad - not as hard / steep as some reviews say. We had enough to walk up, take plenty of photos and admire the incredible views. We saw people trying to get an entry ticket using the wifi at the entrance (as the entry-only tickets seem to sell out instantly, a month in advance), so this coach+ticket combo was just right.

The excursion was very well organized. I took the bus at 2:00 PM and we returned at 4:30 PM. There is enough time to hike up the volcano, enjoy the views, walk around, and even have a drink before going back down. The transport was punctual and comfortable. Highly recommended.

The fact that the office cannot keep the luggage because they close before the return of the transfer is a problem for people in transit ; it should be stated before the booking
The return transfer was a mess. We waited very long with minimal guidance. It would be better to know beforehand what the return time was and have an appointment to take it, in order to stay on the vesuvio long enough and avoid waiting in the parking lot. The return transfer was too long after the arrival and the activities we expected to do on the second part of the afternoon had to be cancelled.

Über die Seite von Nationalpark habe ich keine bekommen, daher habe ich diese hier gekauft. Das Gesamtpaket passt. Transfer rauf und runter. Zeit für die Besichtigung war ausreichend. Schon etwas sportlich, aber machbar. Lager in Ecolano ist topp, direkt an der Bahnstrecke.

Well planed excursion to Vesuvio Park. Vesuvio Express staff were very helpful. Bus left and arrived on time. 100% sure to recommend visiting Vesuvio Park with Vesuvio Express.

Nous avons pu grimper le Vésuve en famille. C'est juste un peu déroutant de trouver le bon tarif pour les enfants. Nous avons pris notre temps pour grimper au cratère et redescendre et puisque notre bus prévu était plein, nous avons pris le suivant sans attendre ! Parfait !

We arrived early and were able to take the bus before our reservation. The staff is friendly. It's the best way to get to the top of Mount Vesuvius without a car.

We had to wait very long before we could start, there are to much people and the staff are unfriendly. And then we had to wait approximately a half hour for the next bus. We couldn't recommand this trip

Buses just at the exit of the train. Three hours is the perfect amount to do the circuit at a leisurely pace. Highly recommend!

- nous avons pris les billets combinés trajet+entrée : avantage : il restait de la place alors qu'il n'y avait plus de billet en ligne sur le site officiel du parc naturel ; inconvénient : pas de billet réduit pour les - de 26 ans alors qu'ils payent normalement 2€ seulement.
- nous avons dû attendre arrivés à l'entrée du parc, il n'était pas encore ouvert à cause du vent (cause indépendante du service Vesuioexpress), mais l'heure de retour a été décalée en conséquence.
- les 2 heures de visite prévues sont largement suffisantes, nous avons même dû attendre un bon moment en haut pour le bus de retour.

Fraud - we asked 60m before on 3 channels to get info - due to train outage we will be 15m later - no reply to Whatsapp, email, phone. Another resellers of Vesuv tickets told us it would be fine to arrive even 2h later, as nobody check for concrete time on Vesuv. So we bought another tickets. Step back from them as there is no support at all, Cashing people for no support. I'm asking a bank for chargeback once I find time to send it. Never more.

Very good organization trip on Vesevius

Combined bus/park ticket is really helpful and makes it so much easier than when I did this trip a few years ago and had to book separately and work out my own timing. Clear instructions to locate the bus from the metro station. Bus was clean and comfortable and ran to time.

Ticket allowed us sufficient time to walk up to the crater and enjoy the views (and I was with younger children who still managed it well within time).

Car park coming back is a little chaotic but this is not the fault of the company- it’s just busy with lots of tour buses, public buses and taxis. Just be prepared if you’re used to an orderly queue at an allocated stop!

Yes a great trip

In the description it is said 2h on top. They left us there for 3 hours. And even after 3h the bus was late. We were counting on 2h and had plan our trip futher accordingly - due to this un xpexted change we almost missed our train back to Rome. There is nothing to there more the 2h.

Booking tickets online was easy, the meeting point is just outside Ercolano station, the bus was on time, we had time to climb without rushing. So I recommend this site rather than others (they tried to sell us other more expensive tickets at the hotel for the same experience).

Zarówno zakup biletów jak i sama wycieczka przebiegły bez żadnych problemów.

Ce service de transfert est très pratique : embarquement en bus au pied de la gare d'Ercolano scavi, horaires respectés et remise d'une contremarque pour l'entrée sur le site à l'arrivée.
La route offre de belles vue sur la baie de Naples mais est sinueuse et assez étroite : un grand bravo au conducteur pour les croisements si difficiles.
Arrivé à la fin du parcours il reste environ 800 mètres de chemin à gravir à pieds pour arriver au bord du cratère et profiter du spectacle. Un peu plus de 2 heures nous sont laissées avant le retour au bus, ce qui est amplement suffisant pour tout faire.
Attention à la réservation en ligne, il existe plusieurs types de billets, veillez à bien réserver pour le trajet en bus + l'entrée sur le site.

I booked this trip for my family including two teenage sons as it was the most convenient way to park and get entrance into the park itself. The coach picked us up on time and took us up the winding roads to the Vesuvio Park. We were dropped by the entrance and given two hours to walk up to the Crater and back. This was enough time. It took about 30 mins to walk to the top and there are a few points along the way to buy a souvenir or a drink if needed. At the top you can walk around and peer into the crater itself. The view of the Gulf of Naples and the urban sprawl is quite stunning. The coach arrived on time and we were dropped off near the departure point. All round the trip took about 3.25 hours. I would recommend booking this trip to avoid the hassle of trying to find parking and to be dropped off at the highest car park point and save too much hiking.

Organizačně nějak zvládnuto, ale 3 km před cílem nahoru se pokazil autobus. Díky tomu jsme ztratili hodinu času, která nám následně v průběhu dne chyběla. Agentura nám čas na vrcholu sice prodloužila, ale ostatní denní program tím byl velice narušen. Zároveň nás mrzelo, že nám nikdo po cestě nic neřekl (řidič) a nevěděli jsme, co bude následovat. Cesta zpět byla také zajímavá, někteří lidé stáli, což vzhledem k ceně akce, je z mého pohledu neakceptovatelné. Cesta zpět trvala skoro hodinu, což zase neodpovídalo popisu a místo ve 12 dole, jsme tam byli cca 13:30. Za mě tedy částečné zklamání.

The tour was overbooked with too many people for the bus. Fortunately parents were willing to hold children on laps, so everyone managed to board, but far from ideal.
The driver was informative and pointed out points of interest along the way. The time at Vesuvius was adequate.
Having since returned using the 808 local bus from Pompeii Scavi, I wouldn't use a tour again as it was significantly cheaper to DIY a trip myself. The tour is convenient, but if you're on a budget, there's cheaper ways to visit the crater.

Great experience, no difficulties in booking or any other inconveniences. Overall a good experience

We were expecting 1.5 - 2 hours on Vesuvius as the booking information indicated. When we got there, it was hailing and raining heavily. You can't control the weather of course, but we were told our bus would head back at 5:00pm, which was over 2.5 hours after our arrival. After an hour of taking what little shelter we could, we walked back toward the entrance to gauge the bus/taxi situation. We did not exit and stayed well within the park entrance, but as we walked back up the hill we were hassled by the staff who thought we had snuck in. Shortly after, we were miserable enough to ask about taking the earlier bus back. We were told yes but would not be allowed a seat on the bus for the journey. The bus was practically empty while we were waiting, so my wife briefly sat down to collect her things and dry off the contents of our backpacks. She then got yelled at for sitting down.

Again, you can't control the hail and rain, but be warned your experience might be tainted beyond the weather.

Then the hike was a bit messy, despite the beauty of the site. The guy who "welcomed" us at the parking was like "you have two hours, now move". I suppose the reason for being that rude is that they have so many tourists visiting. Another issue is the tourists themselves who don't respect the schedule to be back at the bus. So you might end up respecting the schedule and finally wait on the parking for the next bus. Also there are no clean toilets, and still you have to pay for.

The time between arrival and departure is too short. One and a half hours is only enough to go up to Vesuvius quickly and come back down. Next time, I will preffer public transport.

Nous nous sommes trompés de gare et sommes arrivés au point de rendez-vous avec 1 heure de retard. La société n'a fait aucune difficulté pour nous laisser prendre le bus suivant et nous avons pu nous promener au Vésuve comme prévu.

We looked into travelling separately and booking slot on website. Though much cheaper to do it that way, the extra expense of a combined ticket took hassle out of timings etc. Meet up point easy to find. Bit of a scramble to get on, not sure queuing is a thing here. The 30 min bus ride would have been perfect opportunity for somebody accompanying the bus driver to give some info about Vesuvius to the passengers but never mind. A bit chaotic at base carpark where you are dropped off/collected due to minimal space. Pick up was a bit late so a bit of hanging around. No toilets so go at train station before hand. Solid but naturally steep pathway up, bit hazy on day we went but enjoyed our packed lunch at the top looking across the bay. We had 1hr 45 mins to get up and back. So just enough time to stop for a breather here and there, and eat our picnic. Very glad we went. Definitely recommend the combo ticket.

However, it is not run well. There are no toilets once you leave the Ercolano station, so prepare for that. I don't think that's the bus company's fault but it would be great if that was communicated.
The bus was late leaving at the start, and over 30 minutes late to take us back, leaving us standing with no updates from staff, really needing the loo, after rushing through the experience to make it on time.
Worth it, but irritating.

Due to weather that came in we could not spend much time on mountain and due to delayed start date of tour missed out on walking around crater, the extra 30 mins would have given enough time before the snow blizzard started.

I would recommend the 10am tour, as it can get quite disorganised, some people were looking for their buses on the way back (from other tours), so I can't imagine how it is in the afternoon when more tours show up, or even in high season...
But it went quite well with Vesuvio express. We left on time from Ercolano, we arrived at the car park 30min later, and we had 2 hours to walk up to the volcano and walk around, which was plenty of time. It's about 15min to walk up to the top.
we were given a ticket to access the park once we arrived.
on the way back however, we had our space in the bus, but some people went in, instead of waiting for the second vesuvio express bus, and were standing at the back.
but for us, we were quite happy with the tour as everything went well, we can't complain

We really enjoyed the trip the views were amazing and the coach driver was very skilled. We enjoyed that it was not guided just a transfer and entry as we are both very active and don't like to be held up by slower members of a group. We enjoyed being able to explore at our own pace and had plenty of time at the top.

Booking was quick and simple and I received our vouchers via email shortly after booking. The coach left on time and the seats were comfortable. The driver was very skilled and navigated the steep, winding roads extremely well on both the way to and the way from Vesuvius. The Vesuvius climb was a little steep at times but I just took it slowly and carefully and made it to the top in about 45 mins - the way down is a little easier and quicker - I would recommend wearing solid shoes/boots because it could be a bit slippery at times. The climb was well worth it and the views, both of Vesuvius and the surrounding countryside, were wonderful. I would definitely recommend this experience to friends and fellow travellers.

Purchased tickets online day before our visit on Dec 27. Arrived at office early to ensure all ok, showed reservation and we were given a "ticket" to show driver. Scheduled first bus of day -9:30- because we wanted to visit Herculaneum in afternoon. At park entrance the driver's assistant led us through the gate, telling us the return bus would leave in 2 hours. No waiting line, at least this time of year. Good timing for us. Everything on schedule; all staff professional, friendly, helpful. Only problem - a park responsibility- no restrooms. The only one in park was closed that time of year. The attendant said one needs to find a hiding spot.

In fact, it's the only viable option. Close to the station and on time. It would even be difficult to park a car near the Vesuvius trail.

I had no difficulties booking this trip for two. I promptly received the tickets that could be downloaded onto a phone.

The bus taking us up and down from the office downstairs near the train station Ercolano to the mountain and back was comfortable and very well driven by the drivers we had. The two hours between arrival at the parking spot at the mountain and the return to Ercolano was sufficient to walk up to and visit the crater and return in time for the ride back. I would recommend this package to anyone interested in visiting the Vesuvius and in need of a comfortable trip there and back.

On the website it is indicated that you have a guide. It is untrue. You visit on your own.
We arrived with the bus at 10h33 but at the Vesuvio gate we were asked to wait 7 minutes : up to 10h40 because on our ticket we had 11h20 as Vesuvio entry time. We were said by the controller at the gate that you can enter 40 minutes before the entry time written on the ticket. Nobody informed us about this. In the bus we were the only one in that situation except another couple : the man had 11h20 and his wife 10h30. They had to wait like us.
We met in the train a couple who went on their own. They took a bus for 3,50 € and 11 € for the Vesuvio entry. Total is 14,5 compared to 30 we paid and no added value in being in the bus of Vesuvio Express.

Visit at 1400h on 6 December. The price was OK but we did not receive any explanations about the volcano, its formation or history, the explosions or anything meaningful related to vulcanology. A pity. The final 30 min walk is not a problem. Not too steep. The views of the Naples bay were breathtaking though and the crater very impressive. The bus was on time up and down but we had to change the bus in the return trip because it broke down almost at the beginning of the journey. Mateo (tbc?) the driver was cool. Maintenance is very poor. The reaction was "swift" : 30 minutes later a second bus came to rescue us and we were in Ercolano in time for diner. I don't regret the visit: it was absolutely worthwhile !

Everything with this service was finally great — at our second visit to the region we actually got what we wanted.

But during our first visit we never made it up the volcano.
And honestly, I still cannot understand the chaotic (maybe a bit fraudulent) way the entry system is handled.

There is no real hiking possible — you can climb all the way up, but once you reach the entrance, you’re simply not allowed to get in, because you cannot buy any tickets on-site. So our first attempt ended in a huge disappointment.

During our second visit now, so two years later, we booked this service just to ensure we could finally see the volcano.

Meanwhile, taxis and buses wait for confused tourists to “help” them get off the volcano — for good money, of course. Last time we paid for the taxi, this time we paid for the service.
At least now we got to see it.

The excursion went as planned. Was a bit rushed at the volcano; another 30 mins at the park would have been better.

We liked the location of the pick-up, right outside the train station, and it is really near Herculaneum historic site and many cafés that you can visit before or after going up to Vesuvius. The bus was spacious and the ride was great, really good price for money for a visit to Vesuvious. You drive approximately 30min up and about so down, you get about 2 hours to hike up to Vesuvious and back down - but actually, the service has so many buses that you dont necessarily need to go down with the same bus you went up - and if we knew that, that they basically drive down every few minutes, we would have spent at least half an hour more at the top.

This was an easy, comfortable way to be transported to the mouth of the volcano.

We took the train line from Napoli central station that didn't stop to Ercolano.
As train left from the Ercolano station we tried to communicate with the office to give us advice how to reach the bus or rearrange the experience by calling the Office phone and sent the message to what'up, but they answered with text message in the what' up after almost 2 hours!!!
We asked them if it was possible to attend the experience the following day, but they responded that was not possible and only the later the same day we could attend the experience.
However, it was impossible to reach in-time to Ercolano and finally we missed the experience and the money we paid (3 people)

Although slightly chaotic and unorganized around embarking the coach the staff are helpful and friendly .Staff gave all the information needed and assisted others. A stress free way to travel to the site complete with digital entrance pass. Would recommend.

Had a great time. This beats the heck out of hiking up the mountain from where a taxi can take you, that is a long and steep hike.
This takes you to the gate where the walk up while still steep only takes 20-30 minutes depending on your fitness. We had plenty of time to walk around the crater. Would definitely recommend and will probably be back again someday.

We had booked the Tour for 3 Persons. Unfortiable the time for the visit was a little Bit top short.we had 90 Minutes to Go Up and down to the Bus. Bus Transfer is okay. When you Go down by Bus Its a Chaos. We had to Take another Bus , because ours was full.

I believe this trip should be cancelled by the company and money returned if weather circumstances are as bad as when we visited with our group. There was zero sight on the Vesuvio. Basically we could have been anywhere. We could not see the crater. From below it was impossible to know for us that we won't see a thing. Booking was easy, the bus was easy to find and the trip to the Vesuvio also ok (though I felt like getting sick because of the motion).

The trip was good , well organised and convenient after a morning viewing Herculaneum it worked really well. The weather up there was terrible but that’s just life!! We’ll have return , which is no hardship thank you .

It was good organization. We had enough time on the mountain. We were able to get on the bus earlier in Herculaneum, so we started the tour earlier.

It was very difficult to buy an official ticket for the Vesuvius since they were all sold out. Also having to figure out the transportation, all of this would add to the stress. So for 30€ you have the bus up and down plus the entrance ticket. This is very reasonable. I enjoyed it a lot.

Nice trip from Ercolano to Vesuv crater.

The cost seemed quite high, but all considering it is a 2 way trip + waiting time. All went smoothly but the guy "organizing " the people gruops on top for the way back. He meesed up. He was letting the people of the wrong bus (same company but different time span) getting into ours. I had to insist on him checking the actual time of the tickets as he was letting in people withouth really checking that, with the result of people of our bus out. At the end he realized that, he got all the perople wrongly let in get off the bus and made them go to the correct one.
The wired result was that our bus gone up full went back with way less people on it....I trully hope that it was for their choise they didn't get in and not for the confusion that guy made.
He never apologized and have beenpretty arrogant the all time.
That was the only bad thing of this experience.

All was awesome, but.. Free time between transfering is 1,5h. It is not enough. Its only for fast moving, not so much for enjoying. 2h or more could be better for sure. Path up is for 20 mins. 10 mins if you move fast. Path down is faster, but still you have less than 1h on the top of Vesuvio.

Made it easy to get to and from mt Vesuvius. The hike up the remainder of the way is a challenging one but worth it.

Booked tickets on-line. When queuing up for the bus we were all asked for our WhatsApp number but not explained why. If ticket is booked online what you receive is a voucher which doesn’t get you entry. The idea is that when you arrive at the entrance for the crater the office send you your tickets through WhatsApp. There is a wi-fi scan code at the entrance. Make sure you give your correct country and telephone number before you get on the bus. There were two young guys at the entrance to help who were brilliant and very calm as we hadn’t given the correct country code. Once we got our tickets through, the crater and views were amazing. You have two hours to walk up, around and back down to get the bus down so make sure you give the telephone details. The bus driver was also amazing.

Standing on the rim of Vesuvius crater and viewing the bay of Naples is a must do experience. There is a moderately strenuous hike to the crater rim that could be too much for some especially on a hot day. The biggest caution is the way the Park tickets are distributed. They take your phone number and send them as an attachment to a Whatsapp message. If you don't have Whatsapp you don't get your ticket. Furthermore there is marginal digital reception up there so even with the app you may not be able to download the tickets. This led to chaos and the loss of time to enjoy the experience.

Easy to find pickup point, coach on time and quickly up the mountain. Entry chaos when previously used tickets to the National Park were recycled and 7 people could not enter until the operator made contact with the wardens. Very stressful as not a huge amount of time to walk up and back! Yes I would recommend but be aware of potential poor organisation.

When I boarded the bus, they gave me the wrong ticket. We couldn't get into the park until half an hour later while they resolved the problem. The return schedule didn't stick. We were waiting for half an hour.

The bus transfer was on time and efficient, and it was reassuring to get driven to the entrance of the park by people who are capable and know the roads. We had enough time to climb to the top and go back down in time for the pick up. Beautiful views at the top of the Mountain, definitely worth it.

This was the only option for us to visit Herculaneum and Vesuvius on the same day. Booked in advance and all was clear. Coach departed on time and were picked up again on time for the return. 2 hrs was just the right amount of time for us. Staff in the office could try to be a bit friendlier....2 ladies very surly for some reason but otherwise all fine.

The office is easy to find, conveniently located right next to the station. The coach is clean, modern, and driven by an experienced driver. There’s plenty of time to hike up Vesuvius, take photos, and return to the car park at a comfortable pace. After the hike, you can easily head down to visit Herculaneum. I especially recommend morning trips, particularly on the first Sunday of the month, when entrance to Herculaneum is free.

Me resultó muy práctico comprarlo así, se puede comprar la entrada al parque por un lado y buscarse el transporte por otro, quizá el ahorro exista pero sea tan pequeño que no vale la pena molestarse. Es muy cómodo salir de la estación del tren y encontrarse la oficina justo a la izquierda en la pequeña plaza. El personal te entrega el ticket de entrada al parque del Vesubio cuando subes al autobús.
El conductor se conoce el camino perfectamente y de vez en cuando te señala algún punto de interés en la subida, eso sí a grito pelado. Pero se le nota la pericia y la costumbre.
Una vez en la zona de parking donde se inicia la entrada al sendero, se dispone de dos horas para hacer la subida y bajada es un tiempo suficiente pero sin holguras.
En la explanada hay una zona de baños y tanto en la base como en el recorrido hay diferentes tiendas de souvenirs y bebidas.
Las vistas tanto del cono como del golfo de Nápoles que se tienen desde arriba son espectaculares. Hay que llevar algo de ropa de abrigo y los bastones si se creen necesario para la subida y bajada en un terreno ligeramente empinado y arenoso o pedregoso. Pero no tiene excesiva dificultad.

Going to the top of Mount Vesuvius was absolutely incredible! I don’t think they give you enough time on top of the mountain though. By the time we hiked up there, we literally had about 10 minutes at the top and then had to race down because we were afraid we would miss the bus. We thought the workers were very unfriendly. We even laughed that the bus driver had a big sign up to not forget to tip him. I don’t know why he would expect a tip when he’s not even kind.

The trip is all ok, comfortable transport, but a bit pricey compering to public transportation. Although we liked the trip itself and it’s totally worth to see the volcano.

Mit 30€ etwas teuer, dafür wird man entspannt und sicher an den Eingang (und wieder zurück) des Vesuv NP gefahren und hat den Eintrittspreis für den Kraterrundweg (gran cono) auch dabei. Am Krater hat man ca. 2h Zeit. Wem das nicht reicht, sollte den 808er nehmen oder das eigene Auto und selbst den Eintritt buchen.

The trip organised by Vesuvio Express went as expected. The bus left on time, the journey was smooth and we received tickets for Vesuvius. We had around 1 hour and 45 minutes to walk to the top, which was more than enough time to get there and back. We were picked up on time and brought back to the starting point. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Schon allein die Fahrt auf und zum Vesuv ist prima! Vor Ort am Vesuv hat man dann zwei Stunden Zeit, was zwar für die meisten ausreichen sollte, wir hätten aber gerne noch etwas länger genossen und uns die Infotafeln in Ruhe durchgelesen.

Buying online wasn’t good because they send you a QR code which you can’t use, so they then need to send you a separate barcode while you’re in transit to Vesuvius. They don’t explain this, at all: they just demand a ‘WhatsApp phone number’. So, if you thought buying your ticket would save you from tech trouble, it’s actually the opposite.

I woul like this agency to be more transperent in terms of information.

But there is no guided tour- the lady in the bus told us to exit and go to the meeting point and said there would be a tour, guides wating for us.
There was none. We went there we asked for the guides they said all 30 minutes they will explain s.th. but not walk around with us.
So the info was very misleading, the guys at the meeting point were not interested at all to give info.
We strolled along alone like all the other visitors but fortunately met a lady from the national park who was very kind and eager to give us info and answer our questions. So make sure you find s.o. nice, complain about guides who dont want to work.

Also the time span is very short to go for the walk, get info, take photos and almost run back downhill not to miss the bus back. We would have loved to eat sth at one of the littles bars with view but not time.

Everything was good, the driver was nice, stopped for the views, it was also on time. No worries at all!

The most disgusting thing that happened to me in Italy. 1. They kept us in the heat near the bus for 40 minutes. 2. The bus arrived to pick us up 8 minutes late. 3. We couldn’t leave earlier, although there were seats on the bus ahead. 4. The return trip was delayed by 40 minutes. 5. The driver didn’t fasten his seatbelt and was chatting on the phone, as a result we got into an accident. 6. The website says that the excursion is 3 hours, but in fact it’s 5 hours, as a result we were late to another place.

Von der Online Buchung bis hin zum Transfer ab Ercolano zum Vesuv hat alles gepasst.
Wir waren 15 Minuten vor Abfahrtszeit da. Ich würde auf jeden Fall wieder online buchen, geht dann schnell und einfach. Beim Vesuvio Express Ticketschalter bekommt man dann mit der Online Kaufbeleg das Ticket für den Transfer und beim Bus das Ticket für den Eintritt zum Vesuv.
Die Fahrt war angenehm und oben angekommen zeigte uns der Fahrer auf einen Zettel die Uhrzeit der Rückfahrt.
Ich bin mit meinen zwei Schulkindern 30 min gemütlich rauf und nach Fotos und kurzen Stop gemütlich wieder runter.
(Kleiner Hinweis: oben am Krater gibt es zwar Getränke und Souvenirs, aber kein WC)

This was such an amazing experience. The bus was on time and takes you right to the start of the walking trail, much further past the car parking lot. The bus was easy to find for the trip back. The experience was worth it all, I highly recommend it!

Non mi è piaciuto che si può comprare il biglietto di ingresso solo online dove sono indicati orari un po’ ingestibili se si vuole provvedere con mezzi pubblici collegando, di conseguenza, l’acquisto al solo servizio navetta. Le indicazioni dello staff sono un po’ improbabili ma alla fine si è raggiunto lo scopo.
Un po’ caro il transfer A/R ma nel complesso abbastanza organizzato. Il tour in cima al Gran Cono è abbastanza limitato ma vale l’impresa

Simply a coach transfer to and from Vesuvius, as expected. Vesuvius was wonderful so I recommend that.

Transfer of park ticket to me via the agent wasn’t seamless and didn’t know I would need this extra ticket from the operator to enter the park.

Main issue was that we were told clearly that the bus to get back to Ercolano would be the same bus and same driver that took us up. This turned out not to be the case, meaning me and my partner nearly missed the bus, and would have missed our scheduled train to Naples as a result if I hadn’t enquired.

Fine but organisation could be improved.

Tout était parfait. De la prise en charge à ercolano jusqu'au retour. Chauffeur de car sympathique. Le car vous dépose au tout début de la montée et vous avez assez de temps pour bien montrer à votre aise, profiter du sommet et redescendre.
Le seul bémol est le manque de parking pour ceux qui viennent au point de rencontre en voiture. Trouver une place n'est pas toujours facile en rue mais par hors de prix

La excursión en sí vale la pena, un sitio impresionante.
Positivo: situados al lado de la estación de Ercolano, te llevan al parking para hacer la excursión al cráter del Vesubio. Vistas impresionantes.
Negativo: Creíamos tener los tickets con el mail que recibimos. Pero NO SIRVEN para la entrada al cráter. No nos avisaron que teníamos que pasar por taquilla, lo supimos justo al subir al autocar. Allí, en lugar de imprimirlos nos dijeron que los enviaban por mail, pero a pie de Vesubio no hay cobertura. Al final, conseguimos descargarlos pero perdimos 20 minutos. Por suerte estuvimos a tiempo.

The train didn’t stop at Ercolano so we had to go to the vesuvio via Pompei and we were late.
The system to enter is particular and complex. The girl in charge of the Vesuvio express is very nice and very professionnal. She has done everything she could to make our entrance in the Park possible.

I did like very much everything in this leisure trip. Also my clients. Prefekt organization, nice and iconic place. Rezervation and organization is on highest level. Keeping to agreed times - fantastic. Prefect and very transparet website of company, and very helpfull, kind and experienced people in the meetpoint. And driver is not only driver, He is also half guide very talkative and funny.

Tenia serias dudas para reservar aqui por las reseñas tan negativas, pero en mi caso fueron muy puntuales tanto a la ida como a la vuelta.
El viaje tanto de ida como de vuelta la realizó el mismo conductor (que fue muy profesional) y el mismo autobús.
Las entradas te las envían por WhatsApp 5 min antes de partir y se aseguran de que te llegue el mensaje.

Going with Vesuvioexpress-bus, incl entrance tickets, was a very good idea for me and my family (july 2025).
We usually make our own trips by car, but this time we left the car in naples and went with Vesuvioexpress. We passed the car parking with the bus on our way up - walking in the july heat with our kids (7, 12, 14) the way from the parking lot to the entrance, and than the ”obligatory ” path from the entrance up to the top, wouldnt have been a success. We’re glad we took the bus!
Everything work out fine. The bus left in time, the busdriver was very experienced, the journey was smooth (incl ok temperature) and we were so glad that we went to Vesuvius. The temperature was a little bit lower up on the vulcano (nice!), the view was great and I was surprised by the lovely scent from the broom (”ginst” in swedish) growing on the sides of the vulcano. Wow! What a lovely scent.
We booked the tickets on Vesuvioexpress website a couple of days before the trip.
I can gladly recommend a trip to Vesuvius!

Amikor végeztünk a túrával, a busz időben érkezett, a vulkán meglátogatására szánt időkeret bőséges volt. Olvastam több negatív vélemény, de az én tapasztalatom teljességgel pozitív. Le départ a eu lieu quasiment à l’heure prévue, ce qui est toujours appréciable.
Le chauffeur était tout simplement exceptionnel : sa maîtrise et sa finesse de conduite sur ce trajet sinueux, pour atteindre le point de départ de la balade, forcent l’admiration.
Un grand merci pour ce moment de qualité !

The transport there and back went smoothly and at the agreed time.
Entrance tickets were given out when getting on the coach/bus.
The driver was nice and even slowed down on the way in places where there was a nice view.
Enough time to climb Vesuvius and return.
I recommend using their services.

Myślę, że opcja wybrania się zorganizowanym transferem jest lepsza niż własnym samochodem. Autokary mają możliwość wjazdu na najwyższy parking skąd już max 30min piesza wędrówka do kaldery wulkanu. Podróż sprawna i punktualna w obie strony. Kierowca jednak mógłby włączać klimatyzację w autokarze przy upałach ponad 30 stopni w cieniu i to było na minus, brak włączonej klimatyzacji. Podróż byłaby zdecydowanie bardziej komfortowa. Reszta ok!

The bus driver was late, he didn't care.

If you're considering visiting Mount Vesuvius with Vesuvius Express – think twice. For a €30 ticket, what you get is far from worth the price.

The buses are not air-conditioned, making the ride extremely uncomfortable, especially in the summer heat. On the way up, you're forced to pass through overpriced souvenir stalls, as the path literally goes through them.

Once on the mountain, there are no proper rest areas — barely any benches, no shade, and nowhere to take a break. The viewpoints are poorly maintained and don't live up to the site's potential as a major tourist destination.

To make things worse, the bus drivers are rude and force people to wait for over an hour just to depart — even if you’ve already finished your hike and are ready to go back down.

Paying €30 for this level of service is simply not justified. It feels less like a tourist experience and more like a cash grab.

Bottom line: reconsider your options before booking with Vesuvius Express.

Bus easy to find and quick trip to start of the walk. Got 2 hours at the top which was perfect. Bus air conditioned which helped.

It was really nice trip. We went from Ercolano by bus - there were enough sitting place for everybody (I've read before many comments here and I was a little bit afraid). After sightseeing, we were waiting for our us from Vesuvio and there was a chaos.. I mean, many buses and I had to control the destinations, but fortunately the Vesuvio Express employee helped me, told what time the bus to Ercolano arrives. To sumamrize, really nice trip without problems.

Everything was great until we had to get back from Vesuvio. The bus departure was supposed to be at 12:30. We waited for the bus in the hot sun until 1:15.

The organisation at departure could be much better. Typical Italian style: no indication whatsoever where to go, where to wait, change internet tickets for other ticket, can I go on the bus (first yes, then no, followed by discussion in Italian leaving the customer in doubt). Chaotic!
The transfer was allright.
Return trip: same chaos when boarding. Had to be at 12.15 on the parking to catch the yellow bus. All customers were on time, but no yellow bus ! When it finally arrived, we were denied stepping on board as the driver shouted "Naples", leaving all customers for Ercolano Scavi in doubt. No clear communication.
Improve the customer orientation, avoid contradiction!

Really enjoyed visiting Mount Vesuvius.
As a transfer service to get to the park this was good. It's not a tour bus, expect service more like a regular transit bus, but was on time, got us there and back and the driver pointed out great views as we drove past. Bus was roomy and comfortable. Departure location is very close to Herculaneum (town buried and preserved like Pompeii) which is worth a visit. Recommend.

En revanche très déçu par le transfert. Le bus de retour qui était prévu à une heure précise n’est jamais arrivé. Il a fallu en prendre un autre qui n’était censé être le nôtre. Résultat : 45 minutes de perdues. C’est à revoir.

Everything was fine, on time both ways. I would only shorten the time at the volcano to 1,5 hours (we were given more than 2 hours). It is not much to do for 2 hours there. Not sufficient place to hide from the

I purchased our transfer and entry tickets online in advance of our trip which was easy. The shuttle bus departed on time and returned as scheduled. The road up is not for the faint of heart and if you have motion sickness issues, be prepared. The views of the coast are great from the road though. You are given a time to return to the bus and as long as you are in moderately good shape, this is very easy to meet. We did see some folks struggling with the steady climb up to the crater. We were back down with plenty of time to spare, however we took the 9:30am shuttle up and by the time we were descending, the entry line and the line of people ascending was getting very long, so this will definitely slow you down. It was like a line of ants crawling up and in some spots the path is narrow so you can get stuck behind slower moving groups. It also becomes harder to take nice photos, if that matters to you,. It also gets HOT by late morning, so earlier is better. Honestly I was less impressed by the crater than I expected, but I have been to Volcanoes National Park and other spots in Hawaii so my expectations were probably too high. Taking it for its history and scope of destruction though, it was still very cool to visit, and the views were great. After our trip up to the crater, we went to Herculaneum in the afternoon, which I highly recommend!

We had to take the second bus and it arrived some minutes later.

I used Vesuvio Express with my mom and let’s say the experience was very disappointing. First of all, the price, being 60€ for the ride and the entrance on the park for both of us is quite expensive. We are then welcomed by our driver, who was as nice as a rock, no « hello » or anything. We are then transported in our bus, which had A/C, which was one of the rare nice points of this experience. The driver was driving quite fast, driving very close to the driver in front of him and even honking at him. But here is the real bad part : we are handed a paper with the time we need to be there to return back to the station. And we have only an hour to go all the way to the top. Frankly my mom and myself are good at hiking, but we still had to rush and didn’t have the time to enjoy the view. Some French people that were with us couldn’t even get to the nice views because one of them had a feet problem, which is an absolute shame. We then started our journey back (with the same extremely enjoyable driver), with a very concerning smell coming from the engine. The bus basically had almost no brakes, and the driver had to stop before the station, at about 15 minutes away from the station by foot. No apologies, no explanations, NOTHING.
Overall it was a bad experience, way too expensive for what it is, find a better service.

due to their unpunctuality in a connection (due to a rush, the bus couldn't take the entire route) and a lack of responsible staff, we had to walk several kilometers along the road, and one person fell and was injured. The manager's rudeness.

The bus left us on the Vesuvio, but it wasn’t at the good time at the meeting point to go back and no bus came for more than an hour. So we had to wait under the sun… Not very nice…

First thing was that the bus ended up being over 30 minutes late. That is not inherently an issue, as delays can happen. However, it knocked the rest of our schedule off for the rest of the day.
If that wasn't bad enough, for our journey home, we were made to stand for the entire 30 minute journey on the bus. Somehow they had overbooked, causing my entire party to stand, and only my party. 30 minutes down a windy mountain is not a fun experience, especially when we paid €30 each.

I had an uneventful trip. The girls at the front desk / office were pleasant and very helpful. The driver was experienced and prompt at pickup times. If you want an easy way to the Mount Vesuvius gates, this is the way to go. I didn't find it costly; but if your on a tight budget, 30 EU might be too much. I will pay more for convenience. Big bonus, the office is located 50 feet from train station and 10 minutes from Herculaneum.

Checking a ticket process in Ercolano, could be better organized, otherwise it was nice ride.

P.S. also checking with Vesuvio office if some events are planed, like giro, wolud be nice.

Service was slmost excellent. Great that we have info about communication problem due to strike the day before. Possibility of pick up from Napoli was very convinient. One problem is that we've got one entrance ticket for child instead of adult. It took way too long to explain the situation and the organizer's representative was a bit out of touch with reality.

Great service from the team at the office. Our driver was called Ciro, he was a great driver and very skilled driving up and down the mountain!

The ascent of Vesuvius and the view from it will stay with me forever. Any reservations? Only to the staff at the ticket office in Ercolano. I don't understand why they sell tickets for specific times and then it turns out that not everyone has a seat on the bus and has to wait for the next one. It's pathetic.

Whilst the bus was late in arriving and there was a delay on going up to the summit because of the wind, we did manage to get to the top in the time we had left. A good trip and can be recommended.

The service was ok, I will recommend to my friends,too.
The time on the mountain was for us a little too long.

The organization of the transport was chaotic — people were pushing to get on the bus, and it wasn’t clear whether everyone with a valid ticket would fit. On the way back, many buses were arriving at the parking lot, and it was unclear which one to board. However, the view from Vesuvius was beautiful — the entire bay was spread out like a postcard. I would recommend buying a separate ticket to the park (well in advance) and taking a regular public bus — it can save you quite a bit.

The very least a transportation service should provide is a road-worthy vehicle. We were unlucky enough to have a wet day for our trip and soon after our departure it was clear that the driver was having difficulty with the gear box. It seemed he was unable to get it into second gear. Being driven up a steep, windy road with tyres spinning and the vehicle stalling multiple times, often in the path of oncoming vehicles, was, frankly, terrifying and simply unacceptable. I am unable to recommend this service.

The ticket price is the only positive response from our side. We purchased our ticket online, in advance, for the earliest available time (9:30). We assumed that if you already have a ticket, there would be no need to visit the office at the meeting point, where we were given a different ticket we were supposed to show. This information was not mentioned anywhere in the instructions, so we only found out by chance when we went to ask. Not only did the bus not arrive on time, but we ended up getting on the third bus in line because there were no available seats. We were not the only ones. So we didn’t depart until 10:00 (of course, with a delay). We don’t understand how tickets can be sold for specific times and seats if you can’t even board the bus at the scheduled time. The organization itself was chaotic. No information was provided. The so-called live guide was just someone who showed up shortly before the bus arrived. Time clearly means nothing to them. There is also general chaos in the parking lot below Vesuvius. No one really manages anything there, and it shows. Inefficient, unprofessional, disorganized.

I did the afternoon trip. The visit was cut short by 15 minutes (the driver announced it when he got to the parking place at the foot of the mountain) and there no was guide, contrary to what was promised in the booklet. So we were left to our own devices.
But otherwise, Vesuvius is great.

The driver and other person are really nice. Everything was on time. But they don’t have a lot of bus so when we went from parking we had in total only 1 hours 20 minutes. So in the top of vesuvio we had like 20 minutes - it’s not enough because the crater it’s also big.

Bus was about half an hour late but guess there's not much you can do with unpredictable traffic. We ended up with about an hour and a half at Vesuvius, which was plenty and we did in fact get on an even earlier bus back as they had space . Bus was right by the station and online booking all worked fine so would definitely recommend. Vesuvius is definitely worth the trip.

Je souhaite dire aux gens qui ont peur des hauteurs que c'est possible de faire cette activité! Ce fut extraordinaire de me dépasser de la sorte. Le pire est le trajet en autobus car très sinueux. Pour la section à faire à pied, le chemin est beau. Il y a en masse d'espace pour ne pas être trop proche du vide. La vue en haut est à couper le souffle! Et le cratère très impressionnant par sa grandeur! Donc, si je l'ai fait, vous pouvez le faire!

Wszystko doskonale zorganizowane. Bilety kupiłam przez internet, przejazd z Erkolano i z powrotem, z biletem wstępu na Wezuwiusz. Prościej niż kupowanie osobno i spinanie wszystkiego razem.

Nous avons été très satisfaits de l'expérience. Réservation facile. Grande ponctualité. Chauffeur agréable et très prudent, soucieux du bien-être des passagers.
