We bought our tickets online and waited at the agreed pickup location in Naples for our 9:10 AM departure. We made a short stop in Herculaneum to pick up more tourists, and were then driven safely to the parking lot near Mount Vesuvius. While still on the bus, we were handed our entry tickets and had until 12:10 PM to explore. That was more than enough time to soak in the atmosphere of the place and admire the views.
The trail up Vesuvius is steep in some places, with a few souvenir shops along the way. Toilets are located at the parking area, but they are just portable chemical toilets (don't expect anything fancy). We got back to Naples around 1:30 PM. The driver who took us there was extremely kind and helpful.

An hour before the scheduled event, we got a reminder of the event. We were at the agreed upon location early and waited over an hour in the RAIN. I called twice, no answer. I emailed, no reply. Others on same trip did same. Eventually someone looked up the mt Vesuvius part and learned that it closed due to the rain. Since Vesuvius express emailed us the reminder before the event, they certainly could have emailed an update about the closure. Several days later, and still no communication and no refund. Very disappointing and frustrating.

The views from Vesuvius summit are amazing. Everything else about this excursion was horrid.
- The meeting place near Napoli Centrale was crowded, with no indication that we were, indeed in the right place.
- The bus was over 20 minutes late arriving to pick us up.
- At the summit, the driver only told us what time to be back at the parking lot; he never told us that we needed to meet a representative to be given out entrance tickets and escorted into the park.
- The aforementioned representative was a no-show for about 30 minutes. By the time we entered the park, we barely had 60 minutes until we had to be back at the parking lot.
- The walk was lovely, and the views were tremendous!
- Back at the parking lot, we had to wait almost 30 minutes for our bus to show up.
- Some customers who had booked a tour with a transfer to Pompeii boarded our bus because their bus never showed up, which meant that our bus driver had to find them a transfer vehicle in Herculaneum.
- And finally, the traffic in Naples was ridiculously bad (obviously this wasn't the company's fault). I really wish we had taken the bus from Herculaneum.

C’était vraiment super! Le bus ponctuel, notre conductrice souriante et super sympa! Et quelle sang froid! Pas facile de sillonner les petites routes étroites qui mènent en haut du Vésuve avec un bus large! Bravo à elle!

If you are visiting Naples then Vesuvius has to be in your list of things to do.
This coach trip was excellent and takes you to a car park - leaving about a 35 minute walk to reach the summit of Vesuvius. The walk is quite steep and you need decent footwear.
The female coach driver was an excellent driver and we felt very safe as she drove up the narrow winding road to reach the car park.
Well worth doing, reasonably priced and highly recommended.

Avevamo prenotato l’escursione in tre con partenza da Napoli e trasferimento al Vesuvio. Una nostra amica, per sopraggiunti problemi di salute, non ha potuto partecipare: nonostante avessimo comunicato tempestivamente la sua assenza, non è stato previsto alcun rimborso.
Anche l’organizzazione della visita ci ha lasciati molto insoddisfatti. La presenza della guida è stata praticamente inesistente e, una volta arrivati sul Vesuvio, ci siamo trovati senza un vero supporto o indicazioni utili. Abbiamo inoltre riscontrato l’assenza di servizi igienici, un aspetto che sarebbe stato opportuno segnalare prima della partenza.
La cosa che ci ha infastidito maggiormente è stata però la totale insufficienza delle informazioni sulle condizioni climatiche e sull’abbigliamento necessario. Nelle indicazioni ricevute si parlava semplicemente di scarpe comode, acqua e cappello per il sole nel periodo estivo. In realtà, in quota abbiamo trovato vento fortissimo e temperature molto basse: sarebbe stato fondamentale avvisare chiaramente i partecipanti di portare giacca antivento e abbigliamento adeguato.
Per il prezzo pagato ci aspettavamo sicuramente un’organizzazione migliore, maggiore assistenza e soprattutto informazioni più precise prima dell’escursione.
Esperienza che, nelle condizioni in cui l’abbiamo vissuta, non consiglierei.

This was an excellent option to go to Vesuvius directly from Naples, especially as it included the ticket to climb to the top. We had plenty of time to climb and explore the top and was very convenient.

Le istruzioni date erano semplici e tutto è andato meglio di quanto mi immaginavo. La Prenotazione è stata semplice, consiglio di prenotare il biglietto A/R da Napoli così da evitare lo scambio dei mezzi in modo autonomo e rischiare ritardi. Volendo puoi farti lasciare alla stazione di Ercolano e approfittare di visitare anche il parco archeologico visto che ti trovi già in quella zona invece di farti riaccompagnare a Napoli (come abbiamo fatto noi).
L’’Autista è starà molto gentile a fornirci informazioni su come tornare a Napoli da Ercolano.
Esperienza che consiglio di fare, divertente, piacevole e coinvolgente poter andare così vicino al Vesuvio.

The value of the trip from Naples and entry is undeniably good considering you are dropped at the start of the walk ... climb ... up the volcano. What many don't add is the 2km of walking it takes to get to the top. It is a lung burner for most with some older folks not making it or having to be ambulanced back down. If you have heart or lung impairment you might want to think twice before attempting the walk. It is unrelentingly steep. As for the volcano I've seen bigger more dangerous looking volcanoes in my travels but it is Vesuvius. The view was great. Walking down is a far more enjoyable experience as the endorphins kicked in and seeing the pain on the faces as people struggled up meant I wasn't the only one who felt the battle going up. Recommended for the young and young at heart.

This was an easy way to get to and from Vesuvius. The bus was clean and air conditioned and the driver was professional. Some typical tour group slow down transitioning off the bus and into the park as tickets were distributed and again getting back onto the bus but overall highly positive experience. Would do again.

Excursion vers ce volcan mythique inoubliable ! La compagnie de bus professionnelle : a l'allée, notre bus est tombé en panne et rapidement la compagnie a trouvé une solution de rechange.
Remarque : il faudrait un panneau " vesuvio express" pour l'adresse de départ depuis Naples car il y a d'autres compagnies sur la même route.

The trip to Vesuvius went really well. The excursion itself was wonderful, quick, beautiful, and not too demanding.

The pickup spot was very close to Napoli Centrale and everything ran on time. The kids enjoyed the bus ride with all of the switchbacks but, warning, if you’re prone to car or motion sickness, take Dramamine and sit facing forward! The bus is good size, spacious , with A/C, and the drivers that drive them know what they’re doing. At Vesuvius, the drop off and pickup was well coordinated giving us two hours to explore before the ride back and drop off at the same pickup location. The price was a little higher than I would have liked but that included the Vesuvius ticket. You can pay less if you want to organize and coordinate everything yourself but this was a pretty good value.

If you are staying in Naples this is a great way to do Vesuvius. We got the first shuttle of the day from Naples at 9:10 and the bus was not even half full. When we got to Vesuvius we were given our tickets within about 10min and off we went. Had about 2 hours to get up and back which is plenty of time. Pretty warm in July so wouldn’t want to be doing this climb any later in the day.

It was great as tha day was hot and we safe the energy in tha air conditioning bus to get to the top of the mountain. It was also very pleasant return.
Good value for money.
Best to get ithe tickets directly from the company website. Don’t even think about GetYourGuide or similar. Their prices are sick!

advantage>it's simple too book via web, the collecting point in the city center, the bus takes you directly to the mountain, ticket to the Vesuvi nature park is included; views are stunning
disadvantage> the driver doesn't speak any word in English, so you can\t get any practical information from him, also the waiting time is too short, to get to the top of the mountain is not easy especially in summer hot time, we needed almost run to the top and back, no enough time for relaxing, enjoying the place and atmosphere

We had a very positive experience visiting Mount Vesuvio with VesuvioExpreess. We got detailed instructions, left Naples on time and were given enough time to enjoy the hike to and around the crater. The views were amazing! The driver was very helpful and flexible - she stopped the bus for photos and arranged for us to go to Ercolano instead of returning to Naples as originally planned. We would definitely recommend it!

L'esperienza è molto bella, in cima al Vesuvio per osservare si la città dall'alto, ma per il grande cratere inattivo da anni. Il bus parte comodamente da una fermata vicino alla stazione centrale di Napoli, e raggiunge la base dove c'è un percorso parecchio in salita, quindi è consigliabile avere gambe buone ma specialmente scarpe buone! Evitate ciabatte e simili, per favore. La nostra autista era una forza della natura, simpaticissima. Consigliato!

Il servizio ha funzionato come trasporto da Napoli a Vesuvio senza le inconvenienti dei trasporti pubblici. Dalla descrizione sul sito sembrava che ci fosse una guida che ci portava dentro, ma questo non c’era e lo sapevamo. C’era solo un signore che ci ha dato un biglietto e poi ha raccolto i biglietti di nuovo.

Celý výlet proběhl v pořádku. Vše bylo ok. Jen při rezervaci zájezdu nebyly úplně jasné pokyny týkající se odjezdu a kde se vyzvednou vstupenky na Vesuvio. Vše se ale vyjasnilo komunikací přes Watsapp. Takže za mě super výlet.

Pick up point easy to find, nearby Napoli Garibaldi Station. Bus (with AC) was on time, driver very skilled (not easy way to the cone). Two hours time was more than enough to go up and come back. I would recommend it to everyone.

We paid for 6 people When we got on the bus they gave us 4 tickets I was assuming because the 4and 2 1/2 yr old didn't need them. When we got there the staff said we had to carrying them if they didn't have a ticket. And at this point the man that passed out tickets was not with us anymore. The bus driver didn't have any tickets. It was theft charge us for two tickets and. Not give them to us. I really feel like I should get a refund for two tickets.

The early bus was over 45 min late arriving to Naples. We tried calling the number they provided but no one answered or replied to our texts. They reduced the amount of time we had at the volcano so they would be on time picking the next group up. Was a good price but would not recommend due to the bus being late and reduced time than advertised.

Sono rimasta molto soddisfatta dell'esperienza. L'organizzazione degli orari è stata perfetta e tutto si è svolto con grande puntualità. Aver scelto l'opzione con il biglietto d'ingresso incluso è stato davvero comodissimo e ha reso tutto molto più semplice. Non ho riscontrato alcuna difficoltà durante la prenotazione o l'attività. Consiglierei sicuramente questa esperienza ai miei amici.

Bus arrived at Vesuvius at 10:15 AM. The guy organizing the tour was saying that the departure time for return back to Napoli is 12:00 sharp. If you miss 12:00 you will miss the bus. I asked if I need to be there sooner, but it was confirmed that the time is 12:00. I arrived back at 11:45 and saw the bus waiting there. As my shoes were full of dust I spent like 5 minutes by cleaning and then at 11:50 exited through the gate. And bus started, departed and left the place. Just in front of me. 10 minutes ahead time. I did not believe my eyes. There was no-one to talk to.

I liked the tour, we enjoyed Vesuvio so much. But there were big problems. First problem - we waited for the transport to come for 40 minutes. No one replied our calls. Finally the car came. Then the tour was nice, our driver said that the transfer back will come to the pickup parking spot at 16:30. We asked multiple times, he called someone and confirmed the yellow bus will wait for us at this time. We came there a bit earlier, around 15:30, and since there was still no bus, we went to take a coffee at the bar. 20 minutes after in the window we notice the yellow bus that drives back down. We supposed it was another one. In fact, no, because we waited until 17:00 and no another bus showed up, so we had to overpay for the taxi. They didn't respond any call, they didn't respond any message (it was almost a month ago, still no answer). I was very disappointed in the organisation and the level of disregard to their customers.

I booked it beginning of June one day ahead, the pick up was punctual and well organized, the bus was new and airco worked, our driver made a safe and sound trip - also she told us some facts of the surroundings in between! When you get to the entrance you have 2 hours to return - was perfect for me but if you might need some more time to walk up to the crater this might be stressful. So if you need more time you probably should look for other options, because the view up at Vesuv is stunning, you shouldn’t need to rush this!

Very disappointing and way overpriced. We paid 35€ for “Naples: Roundtrip + Entrance Vesuvio” thinking it included actual entrance tickets to Vesuvius, but when we arrived just below the entrance we discovered we only had vouchers, not real tickets. Apparently the “guide” was only there to exchange vouchers for proper tickets — which makes no sense, of course we wanted to enter Vesuvius.
Even worse, he had problems getting the tickets and we had to wait in the cold for over 30 minutes without knowing what was happening. It was stressful and very unprofessional. We honestly thought we had bought actual tickets, not some uncertain voucher system.
In the end we did get inside, but after this experience we didn’t trust the company anymore and came back with a different bus for only 3€. Considering entrance to Vesuvius itself is around 20€, charging 35€ for this chaotic service feels like a scam.

We eventually found the place (a cafeteria), but no obvious sign or indication to confirm we were at the right place. It is advisable to avoid asking the waiter that answered in the rudest way something I anyway never understood.
The bus arrived 20 min late and we departed for a 30 min drive...
Arrived on the car park we were handed some tickets by a gentleman who informed us that the bus would go back in 2 hours. This is plenty of time is you are reasonably fit... don't attempt it if you suffer any disability. It is also highly advisable to wear proper walking shoes.
Views from the top are jut stunning, and you will find shops on the way to buy refreshments at a very reasonable price (2€ for a coke).
Overall, the experience was rather positive, past its chaotic start.

Tickets sell out so fast so we booked this as a last minute option the night before we wanted to go and I’m so glad we did!!
When booking make sure to select the transfer with park entrance tickets as you are unable to purchase a ticket at the park entrance. The meeting spot location is provided in the confirmation email and we used google maps to get us there. Once you arrive, wait outside the cafeteria and you will see a bus / coach called Vesuvio express. The journey takes around 30-40minutes with a very experienced coach driver on narrow windy mountain roads, so you’re in safe hands. Once you arrive someone will meet you on the bus to give you your entrance ticket & you are given 2 hours to explore on your own before the coach picks you back up. All is explained on the bus.
It took us around 15mins to get to the top so plenty of time to explore and admire the views of both Naples & Pompeii.
I’d recommend good shoes as the footpath is loose stones.
If you were unable to purchase a ticket yourself then this is by far the best way to visit Vesuvius if you’re staying in Naples.

The bus was good. However, the team took us to the base point for Vesuvius and dropped there. They didn't even provide us basic instructions on how to go, how many assembly points are there, how much time its going to take etc. There was no guide, but they didnt even provide even simple instructions!! Poor experience.

I want to formally report what was an extremely disappointing and unprofessional experience. This service felt nothing short of a scam. We arrived at the designated pick‑up point well ahead of time and waited there for 49 minutes, yet no one showed up. During this entire period, we attempted to contact the operator multiple times, but our calls were repeatedly ignored.
When we finally managed to reach someone, instead of offering assistance, they simply refused to act and falsely claimed that we were late—despite the fact that we had been standing at the pick‑up location long before the scheduled time. Their refusal to acknowledge their own failure and their complete lack of responsibility was unacceptable.
To make matters worse, we received no refund, no explanation, and no follow‑up from the organizers. The entire experience was handled with zero professionalism, leaving us stranded and frustrated.

I accidentally booked the wrong date, and early the next morning they immediately contacted me after noticing the same name on two different days. They quickly cancelled the wrong reservation and refunded the money without any problems. Amazing customer service!

La nostra esperienza è stata positiva. Puntuali sia all'andata che al ritorno. Il bus era pulito e l'autista ha guidato benissimo (cosa non scontata visto la strada montuosa e stretta e un bus molto grande). Forse 5 minuti in più per visitare il Vesuvio con più calma, ci sarebbero voluti ma anche così si vede tutto. Unica cosa: scrivono che c'è una guida naturalistica ma noi non abbiamo sentito spiegazioni da nessuno. Però anche così rapporto qualità prezzo approvato.

Despite heavy traffic we were picked up fairly on time and driven right to the entrance. There was enough time to visit the Vesuvio and to walk around the crater. The view is fantastic and we wouldn't like to miss this experience.

Comfortable bus on time.
The only dificulty was that something happen with the tickets before entering to the vesubio, so we lost 15 minutes waiting there.
But the returning bus left de Vesubio at the same time. So we loose 15 minutes for the walk.

Before the trip, I read many negative reviews online, but none of them turned out to be true in my case. The bus arrived on time, and we had an excellent and confident driver. We were taken almost all the way to the top, which was very convenient.
We had the exact amount of time at the top as described, and we also left for the return trip punctually. It is true that the experience is not extremely formalized, and yes, Italians can be loud and there are many people there but this actually adds to the atmosphere.
Overall, the whole trip was well organized, enjoyable, and very convenient. I highly recommend it.

Tragitto in autobus perfetto, sia l'andata sia il ritorno. All'arrivo un signore ci ha fatto entrare nel parco e dato un appuntamento alle 12:00 per il rientro e poi non lo abbiamo più visto. Quindi in pratica il tour aveva il tragitto in autobus, l'entrata al parco, ma NON c'era la guida.

The email said we should arrive at 8:55, with departure planned for 9:10, but the driver didn’t show up until after 9:25. So we ended up waiting in the rain for half an hour, which didn’t feel okay.
Otherwise, the trip was fine. We received the tickets quickly, and we managed to explore Vesuvius fairly smoothly—there weren’t too many people in the morning. When we were heading back, there were significantly more buses outside.
We returned via a line that went directly to Pompeii, so we didn’t use the return journey that was arranged. Apart from the driver being late, everything else was fine

When they give you the return time make sure you’re not even 1 minute late, the bus will leave without you! Of course when they are late to pick you up that’s a different story. Did not have enough time to do the hike!

Everything was great! Only thing what I recommend: is give list half hour more time the walk to top and back. Moment 2 hours is little tight, especially if you are slower walker or you have kids with you!

Driver was very nice and skillful as the road to the top is curvy.
When we arrived we had to wait 20min to enter the national park. It would be great if the guy who waited for us and organised entrance speaks better english ( a woman collapsed after the walk and it was hard for him to understand that bus has to wait for her a bit).
It was a nice exercise to climb to the top, while the view to surrounding was fabulous. It can be a bit dusty from the people walking in front, since the path is covered with small gravel and dust.
Certainly a great trip.

What I liked was the destination itself and the general idea of the trip, but the organization could be significantly improved. The departure was slightly delayed, which was manageable, but the return was delayed by about 45 minutes, which was quite inconvenient.
I also found the organization to be rather chaotic. The same paper tickets were distributed to everyone and then collected back afterwards, which felt unprofessional and confusing.
Because of these issues, the experience was not as smooth as expected. While the activity itself has potential, I would only recommend it with some reservations, mainly due to the lack of organization and time management.

It was a successful trip, lasting about 4 hours (2 hours round trip and 2 hours for Vesuvius), I bought the tickets easily, the meeting point was easy to find (right in front of the cafe).

Because of some issues with the public transportation, we realised that we will be late about 5 min. We tried to contact them but they didn't answered, I called them several times, called them on whatsapp, wrote on whatssapp, I saw that they read the message and did't want to answered. When we arrived at the pick-up place they were gone. I know that it was our fault that we were late 5 mins but it would have been nice at least to answer the phone and not to ignore us. (we asked them in the whatsapp message to please wait for us or to tell us if we can meet at Vesuvio if we came with some other transportation, but as I said they read the message and didn't answered...).
Later that day we went again at the pick up point, at the time when the second trip for that day should have been started, and they were late about 30 mins but they didn't care. We explained them what happened in the morning, asked if we can take that trip, get a refund or a voucher for a trip in another day and they refused.
Basically I know that it was our fault that we were late but it is inadmissible not to answer the phone if we called several time and it seems that it is usual for them to be late 30 mins but not to wait 5 mins if you are late...

I do not recommend. This tour was not great. My husband and I booked with Vesuvio Express to make our lives easier instead of getting a taxi, though it made things harder. To start, a couple weeks prior to the day, the company changed the time from 8:45 am to 9:10 am. I was scheduling other activities around this tour so the time change made things tight, but it was still fine. The site says that in total it will be about 3 hours, 30 mins up, 2 hours climbing, 30 mins back. This was not the case at all. It took 45 mins to drive up to the volcano, 2 hours at the volcano, and unsure how long it took to get back because we hopped into a taxi. Without the taxi, we would have missed our other bookings. So overall, plan for 4 hours and time changes because their website is not accurate.

We made in April 2026 the tour from Naples to the top of vesuvio. We had a good experience, eyerything went well. The driver was on time and made a safe driving. On top of the mountain we had only 1,5h , but that is with all operators, as far as I know, and it’s ok. Therefore I recommend the operator.

The bus was over 30 minutes late for the meeting point, which caused a delay in our entry to the volcano. We had to wait at the gates until the staff let us in. Instead of 2 hours at the volcano, we only had 1 hour and 15 minutes, which is a significant difference, especially since the visit was not extended despite the delay caused by Vesuvio Express.

We thought this was a tour with a tour guide. It is simply a driver on a bus and an entrance ticket into Vesuvius. You don't actually need a tour guide. It's a path to the top with some cool views! All fine.
Organisation was a bit chaotic. They didn't check tickets back onto the bus at Vesuvius so had run out of seats for us and another couple. I suggested the driver should check tickets but he was reluctant to do so. When he eventually did, he found there were people who should have been on another bus. It was fine in the end, but he was trying to convince us to wait and come on a different bus later rather than fix the issue. Not ideal. Thankfully it didn't spoil an otherwise great trip, just had to stand our ground a bit. Just be aware.

Es interesante, "el porque y para que" se pregunta sobre cualquier experiencia turística o cualquier tema.
Se trata de encontrar motivos e ideas para hacer crecer la empresa por un lado, y por otro alentar a las personas a que realicen tal o cual actividad.
El volcán Vesubio "como emporesa",tiene enormes posibilidades de dar más a quien lo visita, desde mi punto de vista está infra desarrollado muy lo que se paga por verle es disparatadamemente costoso.
Se trata de encontrar motivos e ideas para hacer crecer la empresa por un lado, y por otro alentar a las personas a que realicen tal o cual actividad.

I think it was worth buying the trip via Vesuvio Express. It saved us planning the travel, plus we had the entrance ticket included, which was not available via de Vesuvio official website.
We got a reminder the day before the trip and all was smooth enough.

The bus came 20 min too late. The trip started 25 min too late. On the way we had to change the bus. At the entrance to Vesuvio no toilet. We got 1.40 hour instead of 2 hours. But the weather was ok :-)

Leave the driving to the expert coach drivers, the road up to the car park was a thrill in itself!
Steep 1km walk up to the caldera, but well worth the trip. Views are spectacular when the clouds clear and the volcano is only sleeping so do the trip while you can.
Easy to book and travel efficiently organised.

We really enjoyed it and I do recommend this as something to do. The description when booking said there would be a guide for the walk to the crater. There was no guide. The bus trip is like a ride on a roller coaster if your looking out the windows, but with a higher fear factor.

You need to allow more time for the whole trip than the planned 3 hours, because we drove 45 minutes there and an hour back, and it was a Sunday. In addition, we left 15 minutes late because we were waiting for two people who were running late. Upon arrival, we were quickly ushered into the park and onto the trail, where it turned out that there were no toilets. There is only one toilet in the restaurant before entering the park, so it was only possible to use it after the hike, and the queue was so long that not everyone managed to use it before returning to Naples. As a result, they were without access to a toilet for at least 4 hours.

Good value experience, which included transfers to/from Napoli and entrance to the trail. You get 2 hours to explore at your own pace, which is the right amount of time. The views are good and the volcanic crater is really interesting to see.

Fue estupendo, tal vez, se nos quedó un poco corto el tiempo en el volcán porque íbamos con niños y nos costaba un poco más en subir. Pero nuestra valoración de la experiencia fue muy positiva.

It all worked really well and efficiently. A taxi collected us from Naples and took us to the comfortable bus which left from Herculaneum. We felt the time allowed to visit Vesuvius was just right and the trip back was very smooth meaning we had time for lunch in Naples before catching our flight. All in all a really enjoyable and stress free experience. Thank you!

Trip was well organised, and on time, my trip was from Naples, got the 9 30 from Naples and you get about 2 hours to walk and up and down and for me that was enough even at 72, I then got off a lot Ercolano scavi.

I wasn’t sure at first because the price was a bit higher than the ticket itself… But the Vesuvius Park tickets were already sold out on their website, and I really wanted to go. Then I noticed that the transfer from Naples was super close to my hotel, so I decided to go for it - and I’m so glad I did! The ride is comfortable, starting from a very central spot in Naples, and the return trip is just as smooth. The buses are clearly marked.
You get 2 hours to explore the park, which I think is plenty (apparently it used to be 1.5 hours, but some visitors felt it wasn’t enough - now it’s 2 hours, which is great; it’s nice to see the company listens to its customers! :) ).
And the best part: I bought my ticket literally the night before the trip, after midnight, so even on the day of travel it all worked out perfectly! Highly recommend it. Considering all the transfers and the time you save, the €35 I paid feels very reasonable.

I thoroughly loved the trip. I walked all the way to the souvenir shop at the top and had the best cup of cappuccino in my life. It was an exhilarating hike but too foggy to see either in the Crater or off the mountain.
To me, there were but two points of controllable frustration. One being, the length of time allowed for the hike was too short. Two being, the process of getting from the cruise ship to the bus stop and from the bus stop to the cruise ship was not at all pleasant.

Bonne expérience avec Vesuvio Express au départ de Naples: départ du bus à l'heure puis trajet rapide et en sécurité. 2h sur place pour monter au cratère et visiter. Retour avec le même bus et le même chauffeur.

This trip is absolutely worth its money. You will be picked up in Naples at a really easy to reach point. Then you stop along the way a couple of times to pick up more people. The way up the mountain is really stunning because you get to see the city from the mountain and it get gradually smaller.
Once on the mountain you get the ticket for the mountain send to you and if you go. You get to spend about an hour up there and that’s enough time when walking with a quick pace to get up and to look out over Pompeii. So absolutely worth the whole trip

The trip was well organized, Vesuvio is beautiful and interesting, the national park offers free guide at the top with a lot of information. We had just enough time to go up and enjoy the view. The agency could improve distribution of the entrance tickets by collecting telephone numbers online during reservation. Collecting the numbers and downloading tickets during the bus ride was a bit annoying. I highly reccomend this trip, it was great.

Lt. Beschreibung hieß es, man hat 2 Stunden Zeit für den Aufstieg zum Vesuv-Krater und retour zum Bus Parkplatz. Zuerst kam der Fahrer schon mal zu spät. Dann um 10.30h am Bus-Parkplatz angekommen, hieß es, Rückfahrt wird um 12.15h angetreten. Zuvor mussten wir im Bus noch unsere whatsapp-Nummern angeben, da wir auf diesem Wege unsere Eintrittstickets erhalten sollten. Am Bus-Parkplatz angekommen, war noch kein Ticket da - wir mussten 15 Minuten (!!!) vor dem Eingang auf ein whatsapp mit dem Ticket warten. Vom Veranstalter selbst war niemand mit dabei, nur der Fahrer, der kein Wort Englisch konnte. Was für ein Sch***System ist das denn bitte! Somit hatten wir nur knapp 1 1/2 Stunden für die Tour. Ging sich gerade mal so aus, ein Getränk oben am Krater bei dem Stand ging sich nicht aus!

We stayed in Naples and was easier for us to travel with the bus until the main entrance to Vesuviu.
The downside was that the entrance ticket to Vesuviu was delivered via Whatsapp when we arrived to park. I found this frustrating, to connect via a public Wi-Fi to see the tickets. I would have preferred to get the Park tickets also with invoice for this ticket.
You have approx. 1hour 30 minutes to explore Vesuviu. The driver usually announces the return time.

J'ai opté pour l'excursion avec transfert depuis Naples, un transfert bien pratique, mais quelques points ne correspondaient pas vraiment à la description de l'activité...
1 - Rien ne précise que le transfert n'est pas direct et se fait en 2 étapes : en effet, on vous emmène tout d'abord depuis Naples jusqu'à Ercolano où vous devez ensuite prendre un autre bus Vesuvio Express jusqu'au Vésuve. De plus, le jour de notre excursion, lors de notre dépôt à Ercolano, le chauffeur nous a dit que notre bus était là, alors nous avons fait la queue pour monter et là, on nous a dit que nous devions attendre l'autre bus... bus qui avait pas moins de 30 minutes de retard et nous a donc décalé la fin de l'excursion qui s'est faite à 14h au lieu de 12h30...
2 - Un guide touristique est mentionné dans les "inclus", mais non, la visite du volcan se fait sans guide, dans un temps imparti heureusement suffisant pour tout voir. Il serait mieux de préciser "chauffeur" s'il s'agit de lui, le "guide".
Globalement, l'excursion n'est pas mauvaise et bien pratique pour ne pas s'embêter avec les transports, mais notre expérience avec le retard et la non précision d'un transfert en 2 temps ne me permet pas de laisser plus de 3 étoiles.

De bus was op tijd, vriendelijke chauffeur. De hostess daarentegen lag 1 minuut na vertrek al in slaap en vertoonde geen greintje enthousiasme. Ik heb zelf in toerisme gewerkt en een welkomstwoordje is wel het minste wat je kan verwachten.
We kregen 2 uur de tijd om de Vesuvius te beklimmen, wat voldoende is. De inbegrepen natuurgids was echter nergens te bekennen. Praktisch gezien is de trip goed georganiseerd, maar wel aan de dure kant voor enkel transport en toegang tot de Vesuvius.

Autista spettacolare, guida dolce ed esperta. Questo è sicuramente il modo più semplice per arrivare al Vesuvio e per entrare con il biglietto già acquistato. È un modo di fare un'esperienza in pieno relax. Tempo per girare adeguato ma se fosse possibile, la prossima volta, vorrei sapere se può esistere la possibilità di cambiare orario di ritorno per poter restare di più...

Coach transfer was on time. Bus driver navigated roads and traffic safely and even slowed to allow passengers to take photos at a pass up the mountain that offered panoramic views of Bay of Naples. The pick up point in Naples is out front of a café, no signage, just trust that you are in the right spot!

We used this service on 31 July and everything went well. The coach was comfy and had air con, we left on time, we stopped to collect people at Ercolo train station, and the driver coped admirably with the zig zag road up to the car park. The total outing was just under 4 hours, with plenty of time to see the summit. I wavered before booking as it would be cheaper to put the trip together with separate train and park tickets, but this was convenient and made for an easy outing so am glad we did it this way.

The bus left a few minutes late because they were waiting for someone else to turn up, but then left anyway.
After getting near to bottom of the volcano they had to wait for 10 minutes in a bus stop for the park tickets to be delivered. We then drove up to the top.
Upon leaving the bus they said to be back 1hr 45mins later, instead of 2hrs as stated in the description.
In the end it was just enough time to get to the top and back down again, with about 10 minutes at the top.
The bus driver did a good job negotiating the windy road up to and back down from the top of the volcano.
Overall it was a well organised trip, but it would have been nice to have a little more time to walk up and down without feeling like we were having to rush!

Outbound journey from Naples starts at Caffetteria Ferraris, the bus was on time, had working AC and the check in was easy. On the bus we got our entrance tickets for the mount Vesuvius and arrived at 10:20 at the parking lot at the entrance. There was plenty of time to reach the summit and take photos. The return journey was at 12:20 and everything was good as well.

I read a lot of bad comments. But why ? All went good as it was in the description. At the end for 4 persons it is cheaper and more convenient as to go with the I public transport to the Vesuvio. And the bus has Air-conditioning. Everything was well explained by the Tourguide on the bus. From Napoli I think it this is the best way to get to the Vesuvio Vulcan. I just can recommend them. It took about 50 minutes from the central station to the last stop with bus , this the highest point even with public bus (linea 808) what You can reach. From here You have to Walk about 20-25 minutes hill up to the crater. But You get a stanning view.

Everything was great, the time schedules were kept, the buss was air conditioned and left us at the entrance of the Vesuvius Park as promised. We had approximatelly 1,5 hours to climb the path to the big cone which was an amazing experience! Would highly recommend!

The bus was air conditioned with soft cushioned chairs and pretty clean.
The boy at the reception of the bus was really helpful to all the question the passengers had.
The bus driver was professional and we didn't had to fear at any moment from any sudden breaks or high speed.
Overall great experience visiting the National Vesuvius Park and I highly recommend this company !

The coach trip to Vesuvius was very poorly organised and resulted in me needing to find additional transport myself.
On the Journey to Vesuvius from Naples, we waited at Herculanium for half an hour, stood on the street in the sun, with no explanation or timings given.
On the journey back, the driverdropped me off at Herculanium and told me I'd have to get the metro to Naples, despite my trip being from Naples and back. When I queried this, he told me to check with their offices on Herculanium, which were closed.
This means I did not getthe journey I paid for.
I emailed this complaint immediately after my journey and received no response.
Walking up Vesuvius was a great experience, but I'll never use this company again.

Ho provato questo servizio lo scorso sabato. Nel complesso il servizio è comodo perché ti lascia proprio all'ingresso del sito e ha rispettato gli orari previsti di partenza e ritorno. Da segnalare però che sul bus non era presente l'aria condizionata né si poteva aprire un finestrino, rendendo l'abitacolo una sauna. Inoltre, al ritorno abbiamo riscontrato non pochi disagi perché, oltre al caldo insopportabile presente all'interno, vi erano anche più persone del dovuto, costringendo alcuni passeggeri a restare in piedi per metà del tragitto. Insomma, servizio migliorabile sotto molto punti di vista, considerando anche il costo.

The bus transfer was good and punctual. There was a small 2 min stop to collect the entrance ticket to the mount Vesuvius.
The mountain trail itself is extremely beautiful and mesmerising. There are official guides which provides Information at specific location during the trail.

Lieu de Rdv simple à trouver. Ponctualité du chauffeur. Sa conduite est très souple sur une route en lacets. Il nous monte à 800 m ensuite on fait le reste à pied. La vue sur la baie de Naples est superbe. Le cratère est impressionnant. Je recommande Vesuvio Express pour cette excursion. À faire absolument.

The bus took us from the train station to the gates of Vesuvio. The staff provided the tickets to the Vesuvio park. In early May the group was small and the bus not crowded. At Vesuvio they give you just enough time to walk the whole path, take photos and have some drink or snack.

Der Bus war pünktlich am vereinbarten Ort. Die Zeit am Vesuv reicht vollkommen aus. Der Reiseleiter hat teilweise (versehentlich) falsche Tickets ausgeteilt. Aber der sehr nette und hilfsbereite Busfahrer hat sich am Eingang um das Problem gekümmert und wir kamen noch rechtzeitig durch die Ticketkontrolle. Vielen Dank!

Being on Vesuvius was an incredible experience itself. However the transfer was one of the most horrible experiences I've ever had. The bus had no air-conditioning or even ventilation on a very warm spring day while being fully booked. And that was all the way from Napoli to the parking on the mountain. This is unacceptable considering how fully booked you are every day. At least use some of that money to make the transport experience more tolerable by fixing air-conditioning.
Credits to the driver who does this every day all day under horrible conditions and does a very good job navigating the narrow roads.

When you arrive at the parking place, you need to walk a very steep dusty road for 1 km before you reach the top. We could not find any guides, allthough that was promised. There are no information panels. All the tourists (a lot-) were reading wikipedia out loud to get some information. There is nothing to see inside the volcano. You vannot walk around the rim. Only half of it is accessible and then you have to turn around.
What we liked was the transportation from the city to the venue (allthough some tourist had no seats and had to stand in the buds)

The bus picked us up on time in Naples near Caffetteria Ferraris. The stop was easy to find, as the address and a photo were provided. In Ercolano Scavi, we transferred to another bus that took us to Parco del Vesuvio. The driver was truly experienced, and tickets were handed out on the bus.
At Parco del Vesuvio, we had 2 hours of free time, and the same bus with the same driver was waiting for us afterward, which was very convenient. There was no confusion at all.
We returned at the scheduled time and were taken back to Ercolano Scavi, where we transferred to the bus to Naples. It dropped us off near Caffetteria Ferraris again.
As far as the bus service is concerned, everything was well-organized and professional. I’m taking off one star because the advertised tour guide was nowhere to be seen.

I prefer to organize my excursions by myself as I believe I can tailor it better to receive maximum value for the money. However, to accommodate for my day trip from Rome via Naples to Mt Vesuvius and Pompeii, I found out that I would need a support from a tour operator for the Mt Vesuvius portion of my trip. I have done an extensive search and Vesuvio Express with their 'Naples: Roundtrip + Entrance Vesuvio' option were by far the best pick! They were very responsive to all my queries, they gave me a few useful advice which I followed, and they have made my trip to Mt Vesuvius a fun and worry free experience. Everything was perfect and I highly recommend - if your route is from Naples to Mt Vesuvius to Pompeii and back - take this package, travel with Vesuvio Express to Mt Vesuvius, and THEN from there take the EAV bus 808 to Pompeii. On return take the Circumvesuviana train. Easy and affordable, and you get enough time to explore both destination in your own pace without being rushed by tourist guides.

Booked the roundtrip + entrance for Friday at 9:30, they confirmed but the next day they changed it for Saturday (giving no reason). Luckily we had a flight back home in the late afternoon so we could go. The bus to Vesuvio was on time but with an extra stop in Elcorano to pick up some other passangers. We had enough time to visit the volcano. The way back was similar. Overall the experience was ok.

Tour disorganizzato, per motivi non spiegati abbiamo avuto solo 1 ora e 35minuti di tempo sul Vesuvio, che visto la scalata da fare sono davvero molto pochi.
Assistenza clientela risponde in maniera talmente vaga che ti lascia con piu' domande che risposte.
Fatevi un favore, prendete la metropolitana per Ercolano e poi il bus locale...

The actual ride to Vesuvius was great. The hike up Vesuvius was amazing…not many people so you could take your time and enjoy it. The driver was terrific. My only complaint and this is a big one was the toilet facilities at the foot of Vesuvius. In order to use them you have to buy something…I would encourage you to buy something other than their pizza. Toilets didn’t flush, no running water. Only one toilet was available and it was all backed up. I would think that at a place of such historical importance the government would step in and provide facilities that are both accessible for the general public and clean. And the people at the “shop” were rude and on their phones. For them it was just another day to deal with tourists but for those of us visiting it was a rare opportunity.

Everything was clearly described and exactly what it looked like in reality. Good organisation. I would recommend being a little earlier at the collection point. Two hours on site was enough time for me to make a quick ascent and a leisurely descent, along with taking photos and visiting the shops. The option with access from Naples is very convenient and stress-free. You don't have to worry about how and at what time you will return.

The Park Entrance Tickets were provided as promised. My only recommendation would be to give more time on site, 2 hours was not enough (an extra hour would be perfect). We barely had time to get to the top and turn right around. No time to get a glass of wine, souvenir shop, relax and enjoy the view, read the info along the trail or wait for the Park Tour Guide. When we reached the Park Guide location they said it was a 20 minute wait for a Guide (they only go every 20 minutes). If we had waited for the Park Guide we would not have made it to the top and back to the Van for the return trip to Naples on time. It was very rushed to make it back to the van within the time given. I would have liked Tour Guide info from the driver as we drove along describing what we were passing.

Very comfortable bus from Naples almost to the top of Vesuvio (only 20 slow minutes to walk left). The driver was great, he explained a lot on the way up and down. I am glad I chose this option, because people who took the public bus from Pompei had difficulties to get in the bus back to Pompei (too many people, end of october!). Private cars have to park lower so people have to walk long.
Online booking was easy, I did it the day before. Might be different during high season.

It is a kind of obligatory trip to do if you are in Naples, but the experience is not that spectacular. Also the speech of the guide was not great. There should be more investment to really show Vesuvius in a good experience. May in 20 - 30 years.

The trip was unbelievable! Our driver was great, explaining a lot while driving. Fantastic views. I can only say the trip was great from entering the coach to leaving the coach in Naples. Our guide was also great. I would recommend this trip.

Everything that was promised and expected was fulfilled. If you want to get from Naples under Vesuvius, climb to its top and return to Naples as quickly as possible and without the need to organize anything yourself (transportation, tickets), it is a very good choice. From getting on the bus in Naples to getting off at the same place, it took just over 4 hours. We received tickets to Mount Vesuvius and instructions from the guide on the bus. There was enough time to climb Vesuvius itself, admire its crater and descend, even for less skilled tourists.

This time we took the bus from Napoli Garibaldi but since we had in mind to visit Herculaneum afterwards we asked the guide whether we could take a Vesuvio Express bus from Vesuvio to Ercolano Scavi and he made that possible. After our visit at Ercolano Scavi we got back to Napoli by train. So this would come out as a perfect round trip.
But be sure to book the bus PLUS the entrance fee to the Vesuvio National Park!!! Otherwise you may end up standing on the parking lot and not getting in and to the top of mount Vesuvio. Up there you cannot by tickets!!! This may you find ridiculous (and it is), but now you know and can't complain afterwards...

Would not recommend this tour to a friend. Park was initially closed due to bad weather. When it opened we had 45 minutes left before the bus was due to return to Naples. Insufficient time to get up and down. Normally one is given 90 minutes . A lot of us returned to bus at 12:10 as stipulated to find that the driver waited almost 20 minutes for a large group . If we had known he would add extra time we might have got to the top. One of our group wasn’t even allowed in the park due to their ticket not being the correct time. Have asked the company for reimbursement but have not had any reply

The transfer service offered by Vesuvio Express from Naples arrived on time at the departure location. However, the main issue with our experience was that when we arrived at Vesuvio Park, we were unable to enter for over an hour. More and more people kept arriving and accumulating at the entrance. The bus driver was aware of this situation before dropping us off but still indicated that the pick-up time would not be extended beyond the planned 2-hour window. As a result, we were unable to fully experience Vesuvio Park due to the lack of time. We had to choose either to climb to the top and miss the transfer back or skip the park entirely and return to Naples.
I submitted a complaint to the Vesuvio Express customer service email, but so far, I have received no response. Next time, I will definitely look for a service that actually cares about its customers and makes an effort to communicate and find a solution that works for both sides.

I was hesitate to book with a third party, instead of mount Vesuvius directly but the trip as very easy. Meeting place was clearly communicated, ride was comfortable. And the guy in charge answered additional questions we had about getting to Pompeii.

Il tempo lasciato per salire al cratere è più che sufficiente!
Riguardo al prezzo, si potrebbe ridurre.. non trovo molto corretto che i biglietti siano sold-out sul sito ufficiale perché rivenduti a 3 volte tanto dalle agenzie.

The bus conveniently takes you to the entrance, from where you’ll embark on a 20-40 minute walk to reach the crater.

The Bus went exactly on time at the given meeting-point. Pleasent busdriver. We had enough time to See the crater . Also at the Return the Bus went exactly on time.

At the pickup location, the shop did not respond well!
The phone number is unanswered and WhatsApp number consistently returns a default message.
Gave around 1.30hr to climb and return. If you encounter any obstacles, it would be challenging!
Overall its just Ok Ok

We bought 3 tickets for 40 euro each
In description was written that we will be supporting with guides and excursion
But it was only group transfer to the entrance of Vesuvio
At the bus they gave to us entrance ticket (price 11euro), that’s why it s better to take only transfer for 19 euro

The bus left 10 minutes early and didn't wait for us, so we had to go back later that afternoon (and that bus also left 10 minutes early and the driver never checks the list of passengers to see if everyone is there). The bus has very poor air conditioning and it was extremely hot inside. The bus takes you to Hercolano and then you switch to another bus that also has poor aircon, but the worst was on the way back when they switched us from the bus to a taxi to take us back to Naples and the taxi had NO AIR-CONDITIONING AT ALL. It was 40'C outside and we thought we were going to die in the car sweating like pigs. Absolutely do NOT RECOMMEND this service.

The bus was on time and at the place expected.
You are dropped off far closer, from what I could see, than you can stop and park if driving. You're given 2 hours and the bus was on time again on return and early so you can sit and wait.
It's only 1km but very steep. For some 2 hours may be tight as I'd seen for the reviews but for us it was plenty (30yos in average shape we spent just under 1.5hrs and had just over 30 mins spare to look at gifts/get a drink - and we weren't speeding through it was very hot on our day and we took selfies and short rests). Quick journey too and from Naples. Would recommend.

Fiz o passeio com meu filho de 15 anos e minha mãe de 70 anos. Tudo ocorreu conforme o planejado, os horários foram cumpridos desde a partida, até o retorno para o ponto de encontro, fiquei bem satisfeita. Motorista habilidoso e tranquilo. O tempo de permanência é suficiente para subir até a cratera, olhar, fotografar e descer, sem pressa. No dia do nosso passeio, o tempo estava chuvoso e nublado, então tivemos que comprar capa de chuva e esfriou lá em cima, isso dificultou a subida, mas fomos com calma e chegamos lá. Use tênis e leve água. Tanto na entrada, quanto no topo há local para fazer um lanche e usar o banheiro. Se você tiver mais tempo e não tiver comprado o passeio com antecedência, deixe para ir num dia ensolarado. Mas mesmo com a adversidade climática, minha família e eu gostamos da experiência de estar na cratera do do Vesúvio.

Convenient and easy to find transportation to the Vesuvius park. I would like to have had more time to spend at the top once I reached it. Maybe increase the tour to 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Scenery is spectacular and worth having time to enjoy.

Highly recommend. Enough time to explore Vesuvio. We were travelling from Naples. They bring you to the entrance and then it’s about 1.5-2 hour to walk up and down. Just missed A/C in the bus.

Good not to have to stress about connections and ticket times matching
Bus 30 minutes late, tickets we were given expired before we got to entrance. This was resolved reasonably quickly. There was no guide but the weather was very wet and misty on the day we visited.

If you’re looking for easy transportation to/from Mt. Vesuvius, I would recommend this. It’s worth avoiding the hassle of public transportation and the cost of a taxi or more expensive service. They don’t provide you with a guide and you should check the entry time of the ticket they give you in case you need them to change it (ours would have required us to wait for 1/2 hour before entering, but they fixed it right away). The allotted time for the hike was perfect for us. We had time to make it up and back, take lots of photos, use the bathroom, and shop for souvenirs.

My experience in traveling with vesuvio express was nice. The driver came at the meeting point on the right time and the trip was calm. There at the vesuvio we had 2 hours to visit the vulcano which was quite enough time to go up and back and take photos. At the end of the trip they left us at the inicial meeting point.

This is a great thing to do & taking a vehicle directly there is the easiest way to do it. It’s a must do trip if you are coming to the area. Doing Pompei and this climb in 1 day is a big ask and they’re a 30 min drive apart. Not walkable.
The trip itself was good, pick up in time, vehicle okay, but we didn’t get a guide as stated. The guy just wasn’t there to take us so the driver just got us in and arranged a time to pick up. Kind of feeling we didn’t quite get what we paid for. It was fine though, it didn’t spoil it. There’s some literature on the way & everything is available online if you want to be an expert. A guide is essential in Pompei I would say but not on this trip.
We’ve still given 5 stars because it was one of our best days but come on, if you are saying you are providing a guide in your literature then please provide one. Other customers will not be so kind..

Bravo au chauffeur pour sa conduite lors de la montée/descente au Vésuve..route très étroite lorsque 2 bus se croisent ! Mettez vous au 1er rang dans le bus..un vrai "spectacle"...de la peur ou pas !
Temps suffisant arrivé au point de départ pour visiter le Vésuve, une bonne marche de 20-25 mn et vous êtes en haut, avec très belle vue. Prévoyez de l'eau, et bonnes chaussures.

We had to switch always to a smaller bus 3 times, we had no explanation at all. The driver decided to speed on the way down with no respect for the passengers. We recommend using the city bus that also stops at the 1000-meter parking lot and is less expensive. The 2 hours that "Vesuvio Express" allows is not enough if you have to stop a lot on the way up.

We decided for this option, as we thought that even though it was expensive (the entrance ticket is normally 11 euros), it would make the whole trip easier. But... first, the driver was 30mn late. No info from the company and the driver barely apologized. Once on top, our tickets were for an hour later. At the gate we were told to wait 40mn. The driver didn't apologise, left in a hurry and just gave us an extra 10mn to climb. Clearly not worth the price

Would definitely recommend this bus to get you where you’re going and back. Very clean and comfortable. We did book the tour with a guide but there wasn’t any. Anyone go up should definitely dress for the freezing cold.

My experience with the round trip from Naples to Vesuvius, managed by a private bus company, was overall quite efficient. The organization was satisfactory, though there was a slight delay of around 30 minutes on the return journey. However, this did not significantly detract from the overall experience.

We had a great tour from Naples to Vesuvius and back.
The pickup, the transport itself and the comfort of the journey were optimal.
Our driver Roberto is a very sporty driver and tried to get us to the destination as quickly as possible so that we had enough time at the crater.

Impresionante. De las cosas más bonitas que he visto en mi vida. No tiene desperdicio. A un lado se ve el golfo de Nápoles, Capri, Pompeya etc. Al otro lado la boca del cráter inmenso, gigantesco, las fumarolas ... Emocionante hasta el punto de que se me saltaron las lágrimas. Tengo 65 años y no cuesta nada subir y bajar al Vesubio. Son 20 minutos subir y otro tanto la bajada. Una maravilla.
